"We should be home soon!" a young Felix determined, looking back at the Christmas tree they were dragging behind them before he looked back at his best friend. Both of them knew they were lost, but stubborn as they were, neither would admit it.
"Are you children okay?" Katherine said, and it was like a fog was lifting over the newly turned vampire's memories as he watched himself interact with the vampire who had given them so much grief.
"Do you remember me?" A young woman asks, and Felix turns around, clutching a book. He looks at the new woman in the library. She looked familiar, like how he imagined Elena would grow up to look.
"Uh, no, I'm sorry? Are you one of my mom's friends?" he asks, the ten-year-old trying his best to remember the woman before him. Maybe he had dreamt of her before?
"It's amazing how much you look like Thomas," she says, looking at him sad, like his mom does sometimes. Felix shifts uncomfortably.
"Um, okay. It was nice to meet you, but I've got to go," he says, attempting to sidestep the woman before she lightly snatched his wrist and erased the memory.
Felix burned with rage, "Don't bother looking away," Damon said, a cold smirk on his face, and Felix wanted to hit him. To hurt him, his emotions in that moment were heightened as he experienced it again.
"Do me a favour: return to wearing those vervain bracelets, but if I ask you to take them off, you will."
"Felix, I want you to," Damon stopped, seemingly thinking about how to word what he was trying to say, "You aren't going to be afraid of me," Felix's head was clouded as the compulsion worked its way through it, "Also you're going to let me drive you to the grill tonight," the vampire adds as if a second thought.
"Come on, Felix, give me the benefit of the doubt; try to trust me-"
"This won't hurt. You'll enjoy it", and suddenly, there was pressure on his neck and liquid gold flooded his body.
"Why don't you just treat me the same way Damon told you to treat him."
"I can take away all that false bravery with just one word."
"Are you okay?"
"Calm down."
"Tell me everything you see in your visions."
"Don't betray me. Don't tell them anything."
"Calm down, Felix," Klaus gritted out, his hand cupping Felix's face where the young man's breaths were coming out far too quickly, the compulsion soon forcing him to take deeper breaths. "Why are you freaking out so much? She was going to kill you."
"But - I - shit, I killed her," Felix gasped out, trying to turn his head to look at the dead woman. Klaus refused to let him.
"Is that the only reason?" Klaus was compelling him to give answers, the original vampire's voice wrapping around his mind.
"I liked it," the words are ripped from Felix's thoughts, "I liked that I could do something and stop her. That I had the power to actually do something. I liked that killing her meant that I wasn't weak. I'm so tired of being weak. Oh god, there's something wrong with me. I can't- I shouldn't have done that."
"Okay, okay, stay calm, my little killer," Klaus hummed, and he looked proud, which was worse, "Push those thoughts from your head; you don't even remember thinking that you liked killing her," and for once Felix was grateful for the compulsion shifting through his brain, letting the disturbing pride in himself shift to just disgust and painful acceptance.
