Felix was in darkness. Quiet darkness. Then Damon was walking towards him in the darkness.

"You aren't actually here," Felix said, sadness creeping up as he looked at the man before him. "Or maybe I'm not actually here. Stefan saw me once," Felix muttered, and he wanted to reach out to touch the vampire before him. To feel safe... Safe-

"Did you save me? You were here, right? Did I bring you here? Drag you through a door?" Damon just smiled at him, hands reaching out and cupping Felix's face, thumb brushing over his eyes.

"You won't be able to see when you wake up or hear properly. You really hurt yourself here, kid," Damon said, and Felix shuddered under the touch.

"How am I seeing you right now? If you gave me vampire blood, then," Felix took a step back in the darkness, "Then this can't be a vision."

"I didn't save you, Felix. I'm not there or here," Damon said, frowning as he stepped further away, "This is your dream," He said. His voice shifted, his face and body changing, "I can be anyone, kiddo," His mother said, and Felix wanted to cry.

"Mom?" He muttered, and tears began to run down his face, although Felix knew they would turn to blood if he touched them. "Why can't this be real. I want to go home."

"I know you do, baby," his mother said, opening her arms for Felix to practically run into, wrapping his arms tightly around the shorter woman.

Who cared that it wasn't real, that he was having a real dream for once in his life, not some vision warning him of his friend's death, some original vampire, or of doors in a forest.

Felix, at this moment, in this dream, just wanted his mom. Just wanted to be home.

"We should have just left, why didn't we just run," Felix cried, "Why didn't you just take us away from this fucked up town."

"I don't know, but would you really have left?" His mother asked, "We both know you wouldn't have left your friends, left Caroline. Or Tyler."

"You don't know that," Felix said, body trembling from the force of his tears, allowing his mother to lower them to the ground.

"Yes, I do. I'm in your head, Felix. If I know, you know too that you would never have left. You would have kept trying to use your visions to watch out for them, and eventually, you would have come running back," She said.

"It's never going to end," he said, looking up at his mother's face, which he hadn't seen in months. Was she worried? Freaking out? Or was she searching through her own doors for him? And if so, why hadn't she found him yet. Why hadn't Damon? Or Elena? Or Bonnie? She could do magic. Where were his friends? Why was he alone? Had they left him like his dad?

"I'm alone, Mom. Where are you?" He asked, voice breaking as a sob left his body.

"You know I am looking for you. I would never leave you behind," She said, hands wiping away the bloody tears, looking unconcerned.

"I don't know. I just want to believe that," he said, shutting his eyes tightly. "I'm going crazy. I clawed my eyes out, I tried to rip my ears off, I, fuck, I was trying to tear my own skin open so someone who I thought was Damon could trade his blood for mine." A laugh escaped through the tears. "I'm fucked up."

"Yeah, just a bit, but we will get through this." She said, or maybe it was just Felix responding to himself, "We will get better, and then, we will get back to Mystic Falls, and we will burn Klaus."
