Chapter 4: A run for anger.

*** Okay so going to see the Avengers again on Friday and I am way more excited about that then I should. Like so excited that I almost forgot my last day of school is Friday. Whatever, geek lyfe. Anyways! Here is chapter 4! I decided to do two chapters today because I was bored and I might do more but I don't know yet. So anywho vote, comment and enjoy xx *** 

I waited with the others for Tony to return with Banner and eventually he did. Tony's suit was beat up and dented here and there. He was missing his left arm cover and his hair was all shifted to the side. Banner followed quietly beside him, his eyes crazed and his body sagging with exhaustion. Tony helped Bruce onto the lift then climbed in behind him. He nodded silently at Maria and she returned it with a curt hand gesture.

I grabbed a blanket from one of the several crates on board and draped it over Bruce. He pulled the corners around him tightly. I didn't ask any questions because I knew that Bruce hated fighting. He never knew what happened to him when he turned into... the other guy. He just knew that he hurt people and he hated it. Natasha eventually came over to us and sat beside Bruce grabbing his hand in hers, talking quietly to him. I decided now was a good time to leave him be.

The rest of the Avengers were huddled around someone kind of programming device. There were murmuring among themselves and I walked over to see what was going on. They were watching a screen flashing with different riot scenes. Maria paused it at a scene featuring our little sibling friends from the Hydra base. They were definitely the same people but their appearances were altered drastically. The boy didn't have silver hair and he looked weaker, smaller. The girl had bright grey eyes and she too looked smaller. Neither of them were glowing either.

"Pietro and Wanda Maximoff," Maria explained to us. "Twins. They were taken in by Hydra for human experiments, after a bombing in their hometown. Obviously highly illegal but it worked. Hydra was using these two as their own personal weapon. They altered the boy speed and endurance to be increased by 10 Mach. They gave the girl different test and shots to give her telepathy-erm- powers. She can movie things to her willpower and physically and literally destroy someone's mind if she wanted."

A very confused Steve stood staring at Maria. "And so that means..."

"He's fast and she's weird." Tony answered.

Steve nodded and rubbed his temple. After a while of playing with different gadgets and watching several Hydra clips, one by one the others went and sat down. I was the last one at the table looking through the Maximoff's files. I stopped on an article featuring Pietro from the Hydra data base. It went over the progress he was making and dated back to 6 months ago. At the bottom of the article a photo of Pietro was attached. He was restrained to a medical bed and looked as if he were straining to get away from something. His hair was mangled and slightly tinted a silver-ish color. His face was distorted with an expression I can only describe as pain. I found myself running my hand across the image, wanting to reach out and comfort him. Then I drew my hand back disgusted with myself. He chose this, Quinn. He's the bad guy. But something inside me still wanted to believe he didn't know what he was doing. That he was suckered into this.

I shook my head and walked away from the table taking a seat between Tony and Steve. After a while of being bored I found myself staring at Steve's hands. They were bruised and cut. I brought my eyes up and examined his face. He was fast asleep but he still looked exhausted beyond belief. He had a thin slice just above his eyebrow and he was frowning. Then I realized, everybody looked extremely tired and all but Clint and had this strange look to them, as if they aged a few years.
