When I opened my eyes again, the chopper was grounded and people were bustling in and out of the it. Lights were flashing and people were talking hastily in low voices. Then I noticed that people were lifting Clint's onto a stretcher to roll him out of the chopper. I don't know what came over me, but I felt that same wave of anger roll over me. I sprung to my feet and instantly pitched forward grabbing a paramedic by the back of his shirt pulling him backwards.

Someone grabbed my shoulders trying to calm me down or something. I brought my elbow back and hit them square in the jaw. Two more people jumped into the chopper and grabbed my arms lifting me out of the chopper.

"No, stop!" I screamed trying to get the guards off me. Where were the others? Why were these people taking Clint? "Don't take him! You can't, please!"

The paramedics rolled the stretcher passed me and I saw Clint's eyes flutter open and he gave me a weak smile. Someone placed a respiratory mask over his mouth and nose. I was caught completely off guard and fell back into the guards arms. Suddenly I felt complete exhaustion and weariness wash over me. I smiled faintly. He's alive. Then the darkness washed over me.

When I woke again I was in a hospital room, the walls and ceiling a sterile white color. I struggled to sit up then realized I was strapped to the bed. What?

The door burst open and a man in white walked in, holding a clipboard under his arm and a strange metal box in his hands. He looked up and caught me staring at him. He jumped slightly and he suddenly looked nervous.

"Miss Armitage." He stuttered. His eyes glowed a bright green... an almost unnatural green. "I didn't know you were awake."

"Yeah that's nice," I said obviously annoyed. "So you can just come over here and undo these restraints and I guess I'll be on my way."

The doctor winced like I'd just punched him in the stomach. "Well you see-"

"No I don't see!" I said cutting him off.

This time he straightened his composer. "You see, we found radiation in your body and we have you in here for testing. Then once you are clear, you'll be out of here in no time!" He said cheerfully.

My blood ran cold. I knew that I wouldn't be clear. I knew what they would find. I knew didn't imagine anything last night, my hands... glowed. I remembered how I shoved Steve, and how I healed his cut slightly. Clint... would be dead if I didn't intervene. None of this made sense to me but I knew I couldn't just wait here. I knew what happened to Banner when he got turned or whatever. I didn't want to be some lab rat that would be prodded and spoked. I noticed a small table next to me lined with all sorts of nasty looking knifes and drills. I waited for the doctor to leave before reaching out grasping for a knife. My fingers slid past it making the knife to turn on its hilt. I cursed silently as it spun a little further from me. I tried to reach a bit further and wrapped my slender hands around the blade, careful not to stab myself. I pulled the knife into my side and slid it under my wrist restrained.

After sliding it back and forth for a while I heard a satisfying snapping sound. With one more stroke the leather belt broke and I brought my free arm around, working quickly on my next wrist restraint moving faster than the last one. Soon I cut free all four of my restraint holders. I pulled myself up and out of bed stumbling slightly. They must have sedated me or something because my legs felt like jelly beneath me and a wave of nausea washed over me.

I pinched the bridge of my nose and closed my eyes. Just as my eyes fluttered shut, a brilliant white light exploded from the darkness of my mind. I flew back into the wall behind me. It was as if someone had taken a wrecking ball to my gut. I landed on my stomach and I tried to stand up with a grunt. I didn't have time to decided what I just saw.  Once the wave passed and clumsily ran to the door and opened it slowly. Outside I could see people in white clothing bustling about busily. I shut the door and looked around the room for another escape. Across the room from my bed was a window. I thanked God silently and ran to the window pulling up on the glass pane. Nothing. I looked around the room for something that could help me but saw nothing. Suddenly, the door began to open behind me so without thinking I kick the window out. It shattered into a waterfall of glass and I took no time to jump through it.

I heard shouting behind me as I fled the hospital, but I just kept running, beating my legs with all my might. Sirens wailed from behind me and lights flashed but I was already two blocks away when that happened. I didn't know where to run to or who to trust, but I figured that people would be looking for me. Now I just had to find my people first.
