Gideon POV

When my parents come back from the kitchen that's when my mom drops all pretenses.

"Since we're all family here, I want some direct answers. Gideon what exactly happened between you and Camille?" She asks.

"We had a disagreement that has no discernable common ground," I say.

"Is that what you say happened Camille?" She asks.

"No. I think he came to some conclusions and made some assumptions without considering my side," she says.

"That's some bullshit. All I did was think about your side and try to find a logical outcome that didn't involve you going to jail," I yelled.

"There wasn't even a plan. We hadn't even learned anything. You just jumped to conclusions," she yells back.

"Oh I know your plan and it's stupider than I thought. You're going to get yourself killed and I'm not going to be there for that," I said in a would be calm voice.

"I'm glad because I don't need you," she says.

"What is going on here? What are you planning on doing?" My father asks. "Gabriel, are you involved?"

"Not really," he says.

"What is it?" My father asks again. "If it's such a good idea, why can't you tell me?"

"Because I don't want you implicated," Camille says.

"So you're going to commit a crime?" He asks.

Camille nods her head yes.

"That could get you significant jail time?" He asks.

She nods her head again.

"But you feel it's worth it?" He asks.

"Yes. I have to do this. I'll never be able to live with myself if I don't. Sure there may be other ways of handling it but this is the only way I can sleep at night," Camille says.

She starts to cry and Gabriel comforts her.

"And why aren't you supporting your mate?" He asks me.

"Because Dad. She's going to get herself killed or worse. Nothing good is going to come from this."

"What about her peace of mind?" He asks.

"We're talking about murder Dad not shoplifting a dress. She wants to murder someone," I say. "Under the right circumstances, I'd tear out his throat myself, but she's trying to do this alone and isn't thinking about everything she has to lose."

"That's a very serious offense. May I ask what this person did to deserve death?" My father asks.

"He murdered her father and raped and assaulted her. A child was conceived," Gabriel says.

"But that's the perfect evidence. You could have him arrested or let your pack deal with him," my father says. "I would see him dead for this."

"She's from Virginia, Dad," Gabriel says.

"That's too bad. Under the circumstances, I'd probably do the same thing," my Dad says.

"Dad are you kidding me," I say as my mom says, "George, you wouldn't.

"What? If someone raped you Sydney I would skin them alive and then flay him. And if they killed me and then raped you, I expect our sons would do the same," he says. This is no hypothetical crime. He did those things. He should not be walking the streets."

"Not to mention my sources say he's been on the prowl again. Getting restless. I can't have that happen to another teen aged girl," Camille says.

"It's not your responsibility Camille. Think about your family. Who's going to take care of them?" I ask.
