Seeking Him

Chapter Thirteen

Camille POV

She finally asked the dreaded question and I don't know what to say. Guess I'll have to wing it.

"I think you should talk to your mother about that," Gabriel says.

"Mommy, is Gabriel my Daddy?" She asks.

"Do you want him to be?" I ask, stalling for time.

"Yes, Mommy," she says.

Remember when we talked about mates?" I ask.

"Yes. We get them when we're older," she says.

"Gabriel and Gideon are Mommy's mates," I say. "And in that way, they are both your Daddies. If something happens to Mommy, they will take care of you."

I look at both of them and they nod their heads yes. I instantly feel a deep sense of relief. To know my daughter would be taken care of by someone other than my mother makes me feel so good.

"I have two Daddies?" She asks. "Did they put me in your belly?"

"No baby. That was a very bad man. He is technically your father, but I got you two better ones," I say.

"So Gabriel can be my Daddy, Gideon will be my Dad, who's my father?" She asks.

"I don't know his name, baby. Please forgive me." I say.

"Ok Mommy. Daddy, Dad, do you want to watch tv with me?" She asks. "Mommy will make us pancakes."

They both say yes enthusiastically. We all head inside. I go into the kitchen while they go in the den.

I have to make the pancakes from scratch since we're out of the mix. I make the mix then pull out the electric griddle to warm up while it sits.

I go and ask the guys if they want something else to go with the pancakes. They requested eggs and bacon. I knock on Frank's door then open it. He says that the eggs and bacon will be fine and Ashleigh requests blueberry pancakes which I happen to like as well.

I made all the requested foodstuffs then called them to breakfast. Kelsey insisted on sitting next to her Daddies so I sat next to Gideon at the head of the table. We held hands under the table while we ate.

Frank regaled us with stories about his new job. He absolutely loved it. He was used to being the center of attention too. He had everyone hanging on his every word. Ashleigh seemed to still be getting used to his flamboyant ways.

After breakfast, Gideon and Gabriel did the dishes. Ashleigh cleaned off the table.y I sat with my daughter just looking at her while playing with her hair.

Once they were done, Kelsey took Gabriel to go play some games while I got Gideon. I kissed him then invited him upstairs for some one on one time. Once I got him all worked up I ask, "So what did the witch have to say to you?"

He gets annoyed and says, "it doesn't matter what she said."

"If that's so, then why are you keeping it secret from me?"

"Camille, why can't you just let it be?" He asks.

"Because I need to know. I have to know what's so important to you that you would put your own brother at risk," I say.

"It was for you Camille and our- well she said-. She said you were going to die as was our child," he finally says.

"That's not possible, Gideon. I'm not pregnant and we're not trying. We've been careful," I say.

He looks skeptical so I jump out of bed.

"Where are you going?" He asks.

"I'm going to prove it to you. Once I do that you'll see the mistake you've made," I say.
