~3 Years Later~

Kade Pov

It's three years later we are both 21 now. We are both in college. I want to become a nurse I only have a year left. Dexter wants to become a lawyer. He also has one year left. Dexter went to college when he was supposed to. I did a gap year. We are still living in my parent's house. We are going to the community college in town. Because we didn't want to leave here. We got a cat her name is Caramel. She is a caramel color stripe cat. We recused her on the side of the road, so we don't know her breed. But she is the sweetest. I visited my mom's grave almost every other week. When I get the chance. I visited my dad in jail once. Apparently, he has another kid with his ex-wife, and he abused them because he didn't get his way. But then his ex-wife filed for divorce and left him. She called the cops, but he only stayed in jail for 6 months. I got her information and reached out to her and now we are in contact. Her name is Abby and her daughter's name is Hailey. Hailey is a few years older than Dexter and I. She is a lesbian, she has a wife and a son. Her wife's name is Rae and their son's name is Liam. They are cool. We hang out when we get the chance. We are all busy. Hailey is a 9th-grade teacher and Rae is a 5th-grade teacher. Liam is 4. We watch him sometimes, but Dexter's mom watches him sometimes. It's the summer so we have some free time. Dexter still works at Pancake world and 2 years ago I started working there.

Dexter and I are in our car driving to his parent's house. We are having dinner at Dexter's parent's house. It will be Dexter and me, Addison and Stella, Hailey, Rae, and Liam, Abby, Gracie, and her boyfriend Ace. Ace is nice to her. We are all gathering for a family hang out. "Love". Dexter said. "Yeah Babe". Tomorrow, I have to work a double". Dexter said. "Ok". I said and we just went silent after that. There is something weird going on with Dexter today. He seems nervous and he is never nervous.

About 5 mins later we arrived. Everyone was here. We got out of the car, and we went inside holding hands. "Mom we are here". Dexter yelled. "We are in here". Dexter's mom said. We went into the living room, and I saw everyone. Addison, Stella, Gracie, Ace, and Liam are on the floor. Abby is in one of the recliners and Arella is in another one and I think Dexter's dad is still at work. Hailey and Rae in on the couch cuddling. Dexter and I went to the loveseat and cuddled. "So how are you guys". Arella said. "We are good". Dexter said looking at his mom. "That's good, Well I am going to finish making dinner". Arella said getting up and going to the kitchen.

We sat in silents a little before Addison talked. "So, what are you guys doing for the rest of summer". Addison said still playing with Liam. "Nothing just hang around the house and go to work. That's about it". I said snuggling my head onto Dexter's chest. "Ok, Stella and I are going to spend a week at a lake. Do you guys want to come". Addison said. "No thanks Addi. We have to work". I said a little sad. "Love, we can get a week off of work and just relax". Dexter said lifting my head up off his chest. "Ok". I said and leaned up and gave him a kiss and then put my head back on his chest. "We can". I said. "Ok". Addison said and went back to play with Liam. "Dinner everyone". Arella said coming into the living room. "Aren't we going to wait for dad". Dexter said looking at her. "Oh, I forgot to tell you. He is on another work trip". Arella said. "That is the third one this month". Dexter said. "He works so much because we need the money". Arella said and went back to the kitchen.

We all went to the kitchen and sat at the dining table. We were all eating and after we ate, we just sat at the dining table and talked. I was looking away from Dexter and then when I looked back at him, I saw him on one knee. "Love, I love you so much. Then the first time I saw you and talked to you I fell in love with you at that moment. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Kade Jinx will you marry me". Dexter said and I started crying and I nodded my head. He takes the ring out of the box. It has two stones one of the stones is my birthstone and the other is Dexter's birthstone. The band was a sliver. He put the ring on my ring finger, and he got up. I jumped out of my chair and kissed him. "I love you". I said still crying a little. "I love you too". Dexter said and we shared a short little kiss we sat back down but I move my seat closer so I can hug him from his side. "Congrats". Everyone said clapping.

~A year later~

Kade Pov

It's our wedding day and I am a nervous wreck. "It's going to be ok". Hailey said grabbing my shoulders and making me look at her. "I felt like this when I married Rae. Everyone gets last-minute jitters". Hailey said and I nodded. "Let's do this". I said. We went out of the dressing room, and I heard the music, and I started walking down the aisle. I see Dexter on the other end of it and I looked at him and smiled and he smiled back. When I reached him, we held hands and looked into each other's eyes. "We are gathered here today to celebrate Kade and Dexter". The minister said and he said other stuff. "Now say your vowels". The minister said.

"Dear Kade, the first moment I laid my eyes on you I knew you were the one. I fell in love with you at first sight. We went through a lot together. We never left each other. We stayed. We moved in together. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you". Dexter said and I cried a bit.

"Dear Dexter, you helped me a lot. You helped me when my mom passed away. You helped me when my dad was being an asshole. You helped me in a lot of ways. I don't know how to say thank you. You are the love of my life. You were there when I needed it. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you". I said smiling and looking into Dexter's eyes.

"Dexter, do you take Kade to be your husband". Theminister said. "I do". Dexter said smiling and looking at me. "Kade, do youtake Dexter to be your husband". The minister said. "I do". I said looking atDexter. "You may kiss the groom". The minister said and we kissed. It wasloving.
