25 - to be an unpresent father

"why would you run into the woods!" a shrill voice screamed as the doors of the infirmary opened. two girls rushing inside. a blur of dark hair charging at his bed. eugene had been in critical damage and moved to an actual hospital, whilst peter had only took three claw marks to the arm and could be healed in school. he was laid on the bed, arm wrapped in bloody bandages. the girl who asked him to the dance stood before his bed, hand in hand with her best friend. no. with her girlfriend.

"what happened with xavier?" lily spoke, dropping onto the bed, to sit by him as he lifted to sit up.

"lily, leave the poor boy alone." taliah smiled, ushing her girlfriend off the bed so she could sit.

"no but seriously what the hell happened." she added and he rolled his eyes, pulling himself out of the bed. ignoring the two girls' eyes as he did so.

"peter?" lily asked softly. noticing how the boy's whole aura had changed at the mention of the raven.

"he wishes i were a girl." he spoke as he picked up his headphones. plugging them into his phone as the girls came to realisation.

"oh." lily mumbled.

"i'm so-" taliah started.

"don't pity me." he sneered, leaving the room as quickly as possible. and both girls regretted their whole jealousy plan. why would xavier get jealous if he didn't even like peter? eyes bore into him as he passed through the halls. mumbles of his name slipping beneath the music of queen. did everyone know? did everyone know what xavier thorpe thought of him? so he continued with what felt like a walk of shame back to his room. and for a moment, he felt like that seven year old boy walking towards his mother hospital room. he passed ajax, who made the motion of of an apologetic nod as peter was only one door from his room. the door was shut, thankgod. allowing him a moment of peace. he hoped xavier wasn't awaiting him on the other side of the door. but when he did open it. the boy at the desk shot up in an instant. peter turning away as he started whatever bullshit excuse he was going to use. but peter merely replied with turning his music up. he held for a moment, that knowing pang in his chest as peter grabbed his clothes. wanting to get changed before the parents would arrive. hoping to hide the injury so no questions would arise. he ignored xavier as he begged for him to just listen as he painfully got changed. wincing as he moved his shoulder. and xavier stood watching. letting him walk back out of of the room just as swiftly as he came in. somehow he found himself stood high on the roofs of nevermore, standing beside a monochromed girl with a spyglass. she stared out to the stretch of road, parents cars rolling towards the school. whilst peter stared out into the sky. already knowing his father wasn't in the long line of parents as he couldn't see his showoff car. the black ferrari 250 gt. a snobby car for a snobby man. not only was he snobby, he was filthy rich. a belfiore heir after all. he had given it all up when he had met daphne, but the death of his wife drove him back to that lifestyle. fancy cars and fancy suits. but he watched as the girl's face fell, a 1938 pontiac limo rolling towards the school at a deathly slow pace. the addams family had arrived. he watched as the most graceful women appeared from the car, trail as long and dark as he hair. mortica addams herself.

"come on, weems will notice we're not at the opening event." he spoke as she pushed the stope shut, nodding with his words and following him down the spiral-like staircase of the ophelia hall residences. finding themselves blending into the many nevermore students awaiting as the parents sloomy loomed into the quad.

"where have you two been?" enid spoke as she greeted the two, pulling them over to stand by the water fountain where lily sat swirling her fingers into the water. grinning as she noticed peter, taliah was found over by her dads who were inspecting her for some reason.

"nevermore was created as a safe haven for our children. to learn and to grow. no matter who or what they are." the chorus of claps coming from the parents as peter sat on the ledge of the water. watching a lily raised the water to dance around his fingers. sirens were so beautiful, not even in just appearance. even their powers were completely fascinating and enchanting.

"i realise most of you have heard about the unfortunate incident involving one of our students. but im happy to report that eugene is on the mend. and is expected to make a full recovery. so lets focus on the positive and make this parents weekend our very best yet." ms weems announced which wednesday scoffed too.

"on the mend? try in a coma." she sneered.

"we can only hope." enid cried, tuning to glare at the girl.

"i don't belive in hope." peter mumbled, looking around. he knew he wouldn't show, he couldn't even hope his father would make an appearance. but a small part of him just wanted his father to be proud of him. to just show up.

"i knew i should have brought my plague mask."

"would you look at my family? talk about toxic pack mentality i give my mum thirty seconds before her judge-y claws come out"

"least your parents showed up." lily groaned, watching how her girlfriend smiled as her father hugged her. already knowing that her own father would be lying on his arse somewhere, to drunk to even remember he had a daughter. peter wondered what his father was doing, would he be mopping in his office surrounded by papers and cigarettes? or would he be out trying to chat up another poor girl to bring back so the pathetic emptiness of his life would disappear for an hour? he watched wednesday walk towards her family.

"oh there she is. oh how we missed those accusing eyes and youthful sneer."

"how are you my little rain cloud?"

"i thought thing was filling you in on my every move. i uncovered your feeble subterfuge almost immediately." he heard wednesday speak from here, so thing elongated to her father. that made sense.

"so hows the little fella doing? does he still have all his fingers?"

"relax, i haven't snapped any of his digits. yet."

"my little rain cloud? who would that boy he looks rather familiar?" morticia spoke, a look of fear slightly painted on her eyes. she stared behind wednesday, towards the fountain. to a boy. a boy with green eyes, pale skin and unfortunately recognizable features. but surely it could not be. he had a child?

"peter belfiore." wednesday spoke, turning to look at who she had been mortified at the sight of. finding peter laughing as lily shot a water jet at his cheek.

"belfiore." the addams parents mumbled, faces palling at the name. pudsley looking up into the balcony of the quad.

"oh my, it's vincent thorpe's son." he exclaimed, noticing xavier thorpe leaning on the railing beside a siren. his hair tied up allowing him to notice those recognizable features.

"a belfiore and a thorpe. my my."

"nothing ever changes." gomez mumbled, looking up to the boy his son pointed at, finding him staring back down at peter. a look of longing in his eyes. like father, like son.
