Steve
"Eds, I'm ba-"
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVE!!!"
I jump back from the door at the sudden burst of voices and the loud popping noises that reveal to be confetti.
I stare at the confetti as it slowly falls from the sky before I focus on the group of people standing in my doorway.
Dustin, Lucas, Mike, Will, and Robin are all in my house, smiling widely.
But amongst them all...
Eddie stood out the most.
His smile was so bright and I felt such warmth as he stares up at me.
"Wh-what is.....this?..." I mumble.
"It's a surprise birthday party, ya Dingus!!"
"Yeah! You're 19 now!"
"We gotta celebrate you getting another year older"
"Mike! - anyway yeah! This is something to celebrate!!"
"How could we not?"
"But I told -"
"We know Steve - we tried to tell Eddie-"
"But he really didn't care-"
"Wha-"
"Eddie was the one that planned this entire thing out" Robin says with a smile.
I stare at them all, dumbfounded.
I look down to meet Eddie's eyes, and I could see the hope and kindness flowing through them.
I feel my grip on the grocery bags loosen until they fall out of my hands and onto the ground.
Everyone looks at me with anticipation before I finally let a smile cross my face.
"...s."
"What did you say-"
"Thank you SO much!" I exclaim, feeling tears begin to swell in my eyes.
Everyone's smiles grow wider as they pile out of the front door and one by one throw themselves on top of me.
Eddie was the first one to jump on me, so instinctively - my arms wrap around him.
My face is definitely red!
Eddie laughs as he holds onto me, and everyone else begins to laugh as they throw themselves onto Eddie and I.
I can't help but join the laughter before the amount of people jumping onto us causes me to loose my balance and I fall into the ground - taking all of them with me.
