Ewya watched over Turok Makto and his family, they were extremely suffering during the first half of mourning their eldest son. As was Ilyana.
It had been one of the first times Ewya had regretted what she had done. She had brought excruciating pain among the Na'vi people, and out of the kindness of her heart she had decided on giving them a gift.
Ewya travelled through Neteyam's mind, feeling everything he felt, seeing everything he saw. She stalled through his visions of Ilyana and realised how happy they were.
"My child, Neteyam."
His ears perked at the sudden voice that echoed through his head. Wasn't he dead?
"I have seen your loved ones suffering. I have chosen to give you a second chance."
Neteyam's head pounded at the stress and confusion he felt. Who was talking to him? And what was his second chance?
"My child, your mate is in pain. She is suffering. I am allowing you, a single time, to return to them."
The voice in his head now spoke more harshly. It was as if it appeared to be a punishment.
"Eywa rarely gives second chances. Which is why this is your only chance. Another accident and you will not return to me, but rest at the bottom of the ocean."
Nothing had made sense to him. He had immediately thought — yes — of course he wanted to go back to his family.
"There is another condition. You may forget a loved one."
He hadn't thought about it less. He'd risk anything just to hold his Yana again. Yes, he thought again.
