"Miggy where are we going?" Maya asked as Miguel urged her outside.

"To the dojo." Maya furrowed her eyebrows, seeing Johnny in his car.

"You don't have practice," Maya announced, confused.

"You're right, you have practice." Maya climbed into Johnny's car as Miguel said this.

"What?!"

~

Maya stood in the dojo, Johnny and Kreese stood in front of her. Miguel hadn't told her that she was gonna learn karate, or that he finally wanted her to. She was glad that she wore leggings and a hoodie, or flexible clothes as Miguel called it.

"Do you know any karate, Little Diaz?" Johnny asked, Miguel, stood not too far away. Maya glanced at Miguel.

"A little bit, from watching Miguel," Maya answered, Johnny nodding.

"We're gonna see how much you know, and then you can join Cobra Kai, okay?" Maya nodded, Johnny, got into his fighting stance. Maya replicated the fighting stance that Miguel had, or at least as best she could. Miguel noticed too, and he thought that her stance was pretty good. Even for a beginner.

"Fight!" Miguel shouted, Johnny went to throw a punch but Maya blocked it. Miguel thought Maya didn't pay much attention when he practiced, but she seemed like she had.

Johnny went to hit Maya again, and Maya blocked it. Miguel watched as Maya spun, kicking Johnny to the floor. Maya felt her heart drop as she saw blood drip from Johnny's nose.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry. I-I didn't mean to hurt you." Maya began, her mind racing.

"Do you usually apologize when you stand up for yourself?" Johnny asked as he stood up.

"Well, no..."

"Yes, she does." Miguel blurted quickly.

"You don't apologize for hitting someone who asked for it." Johnny chuckled, not thinking much of what he'd said, but Maya felt those words go straight to her heart. She knew she overly apologized, she didn't like hurting anyone in any way but that made people walk all over Maya. She hated it, but now she could learn how to fix it. "She's gonna make a great Cobra." Miguel smiled at Maya, he knew Johnny was right.

The best part about moving to Los Angeles was the beach. Maya loved summer, a close second was winter, and she loved the beach. She loved being free from school and not having a care in the world. As for today, Miguel and Maya had been invited to go to the beach with Demi, Eli, and Moon. Of course, she accepted, Miguel took a bit more convincing, however.

"Oh my god, Maya I love your bikini! It's so cute!" Moon exclaimed as Maya walked down the small hill with Miguel.

"Thank you, Moon." Maya smiled, as Moon started to pull her along with her. Moon always knew the new gossip and drama and she was always sure to tell Maya about it.

"Maya, I have a little thought I'd like to share with you." Maya looked at Moon, who sipped on some drink she'd made at home.

"And what would that thought be?" Maya asked, she and Moon were looking through the shallow water for rocks and shells.

"I think Hawk likes you." Moon handed a purple shell to Maya since it was her favorite color.

"Really? Why?" Of course, Maya knew it was true, she just wanted to see how Moon knew.
