"What?!" Maya yelled, scrambling to her feet quickly."Maya-"
"You've gotta be kidding me?! No karate?! This is bullshit!" Carmen stood quickly.
"Watch your language, Maya Diaz, you know exactly why you can't do karate." Maya clenched her jaw, she was frustrated. Frustrated with everything and everyone.
"I've worked, so hard, to get to this point! I could win the All Valley, and prove to everyone I can do something, and now I can't?! All because you're worried?!"
"Yes, Maya!" Carmen yelled back, pushing the paper back into Maya's hands.
"This is all I want! All I want before I die! And you won't even let me do it!" Maya slammed the paper back onto the kitchen table and stomped to her room. She slammed her door, pulled out her phone, and immediately started to text Johnny.
Maya:she said no
Johnny🥋:damn it.
Maya:I'm sorry, I really do wanna do Eagle Fang karate and fill that girl's spot for you.
Johnny🥋:don't worry about it.
Johnny🥋:I'll see if I can talk your mom into it.Maya:okay thx.

Demetri ran downstairs to Hawk's little man cave he'd had for the longest time. Maya was asleep on Hawk's shoulder, one of his arms wrapped around her waist and the other playing whatever game appeared on his screen. As Demetri's voice rose, Maya moved a bit, Hawk worried that she'd wake up.
She'd been by his side practically every day since the little Sensei showdown, but nothing in her demeanor changed. She still had a major attitude problem, but it was never directed at Hawk anymore.
Demetri started to show Hawk the 'Binary Brothers' video they'd filmed years ago when Maya stirred awake. She slowly opened her eyes, smiling at young Eli and Demetri on the screen.
"That's cute." Maya giggled, sitting up and rubbing her eyes.
"Finally, you're awake! You need to help me convince Eli to do karate." Maya quickly looked at Hawk.
"Your quitting karate?" Demetri gave Hawk a look.
"Yeah." Hawk sighed, and Maya sat up.
"Why?" Maya asked, karate was Hawk's favorite thing ever, but now he was quitting?
"It made me an ass!" Maya rolled her eyes.
"No, Cobra Kai made you an ass, not karate. Everyone's forgiven you, Hawk. The mohawk may have been great but it didn't define you, Hawk, and if I'm honest, I loved Eli's haircut or when you let your mohawk down and it wasn't styled yet." Maya realized she was rambling. "You need to do the All Valley, you could win!" Hawk looked at Maya for a moment. He knew Robby would be pissed if he found out Maya was here with him.
"Are you going to do the All Valley?" Maya sighed, folding her arms.
"No, my mom won't let me." Hawk chuckled, which made Maya glare at him.
"Johnny will convince her, then Hawk can follow suit and join Miyagi Do and be in the All Valley. Maya will have to be your opponent for a day." Demetri laughed a bit, Hawk hated the idea of Maya being his opponent.
"You might have to go against Miggy." Hawk nodded. "If my mom did say yes, then I'd be the only girl in Eagle Fang so that would be a ton of pressure." Hawk and Demetri quickly looked at Maya.
