Maya always knew that childbirth was extremely painful, even before health class in sixth grade, but Maya thought they had certainly downplayed it. Or that was what she guessed from the noises she heard as her mother delivered hers and Miguel's baby sister.

Her name, you ask? Emiliana Marie Lawrence, Maya was told that Marie was inspired by her because as a child she named everything Marie, which made Maya smile. Johnny had moved in with the Diaz's, which meant they all had to spend weeks cleaning all of the junk out of his apartment.

Unfortunately, for Miguel, that meant that he and Robby were sharing a room. They had twin beds put on either side of the room, Miguel's TV stood in the middle of the wall so they could share it, after that they just decorated their designated sides.

Luckily, Maya wouldn't ever have to share a room. Her sister would share a room with her parents, and when she was old enough to need her own room, Maya and Miguel would already have moved out and been at college. Maya was just relieved that Miguel could now distribute most of his overprotectiveness to Emiliana.

The only bad thing that Maya could think of about Emiliana, who she already decided to call Emmy, was she woke up crying through all hours of the night. Maya understood that she was a newborn, and those things happen with babies, so she started staying at Eli's house more and more.

Eli's parents didn't mind, they loved Maya and missed her when she and Eli weren't together. With the circumstances, they didn't mind her sleeping over, but they did make the two keep his bedroom door cracked open. That was less than what Maya's mom told them to do, so Maya didn't mind.

"So your moms making us do this because...?" Hawk asked as he bounced Emiliana ever so slightly.

"She said she doesn't want you to be a deadbeat dad if we have kids together, so I guess this is like parent training." Hawk shrugged, he thought he was great with kids, and there was no way that he'd be a deadbeat dad.

Then Hawk thought, where did Carmen get the idea of Maya and him having kids from? He looked up, and saw Maya in the kitchen, making Emiliana's bottle. Her black hair fell in her face slightly, her brown eyes darted from item to item as she focused on making the bottle perfectly. Hawk wondered how someone so beautiful, someone so sweet, could ever be in such a cruel universe such as this one.

"So, how'd your mom get the idea of us having kids?" Hawk asked, realizing he was staring.

"What'd you mean?" Maya asked, walking to Hawk as she shook the bottle.

"I don't think she came up with that idea on her own." Maya felt herself blush as Eli smirked and took the bottle from her.

"What are you insinuating?" Hawk chuckled and shook his head.

"That you must've talked about having kids with me and this is supposed to scare us into waiting until we're older." Maya slowly folded her arms, hating that he was right. "Am I right?" He asked, knowing damn well that he was.

"Yes." She muttered, brushing the few strands of hair that Emiliana had out of her eyes.

"Well, your mom's smart, because I'd give you a baby right now if you asked."

"Eli!" Maya shouted as he started to laugh.

Maya wouldn't mind a baby or two with Eli, although she didn't want them now, but that wasn't exactly what Hawk was trying to say. He would give Maya a baby if she asked because he'd do anything and everything she asked. He was wrapped around her finger, he knew it, and didn't mind it one bit.
