Over the last few weeks, Miguel had relearned to walk. Maya was ecstatic, she was glad he would be able to do what he loved again. Maya hugged him so much more now, the fear of losing her brother again was stronger than any karate she could ever be taught.

Dear Maya,
Just wanted to say thanks for visiting me and taking me up on that date. I'm sorry it took so long for me to ask, I know you still love Hawk a lot. I'm getting released soon, mostly because of good behavior, but I still don't have a date I'll tell you when I do. I know you have school, at least I think you do since this'll probably arrive on Monday, so I won't write too much but I miss you and I'll see you soon enough.

Maya smiled, quickly putting the letter in a small box before she went to Johnny's apartment. Today was Miguel's first day back to school. When she walked in, Miguel immediately asked her a question.

"Maya, what's a badass name for our new karate dojo?" Maya thought for a moment but all she could think of was Cobra Kai.

"Well, ya know how Cobra Kai is based on a badass animal? Just pick another badass animal and try out some names from there." Johnny nodded and waved a finger at Maya.

"I like the way you think, Little Diaz." Maya smiled, grabbing Miguel's arm.

"C'mon Miggy, we have school," Maya said in a sing-songy voice.

"Why are you so excited?" Miguel asked, smiling a bit.

"Because now you'll have something to do, now let's go."

Maya walked beside Miguel as everyone high-fived him and welcomed him back.

"I told you everyone missed you," Maya whispered.

"El Serpiente! What's up?" Maya stood next to Miguel as Hawk walked up to him. She'd be civil, for Miguel. "Welcome back, man."

"Feels good to be back." Miguel laughed a bit.

"They give you bionic legs or some shit?"

"No, same old boring human legs." Miguel shrugged.

"Oh, yeah? Can you throw down? Gotta defend that title. Gotta get through me first. Dude, Cobra Kai is crushing it right now." Maya rolled her eyes as she stared at the ground.

"I've actually been meaning to talk to you about that." Miguel started, but then the bell rang. "I'll talk to you about it at lunch," Miguel said.

"All right, sure." Hawk started walking up the steps, and Miguel followed behind Maya.

"You didn't have to stay with me, I know you hate Hawk." Maya shrugged.

"I can be civil if it's for you." Maya gave him a wide smile as they approached Demi.

"What's up, Miguel?" Demi asked.

"Hey. What's up?"

"Hey, the Comeback Kid! Welcome back. I hope to make a similar triumphant return to the land of the mobile appendage masses." Maya didn't understand but she guessed he meant a fully functional arm again.
