Everything is stagnant. Yes the link of communication has been established between everything but it was boring. The forever conflict between Dream and Nightmare is getting old. Staying forever as the only duty to protect and help was mundane to the ever confusing protector.
Yes, AUs come and go all the time. Paperjam and Gradient had decided to explore, never allowing others to see them, much like how their caretakers had tried to do when younger, returning to their safe haven when tired.
The occasional parties in the Omega Timeline, the fights and chases of both sides, the shenanigans of the 2P twins with Paperjam and Gradient. All of those against the eternity they'll live, it's starting to turn stale.
It's not a depressing thought... is it? When you live as someone who never leaves the living, however long it might take, living in itself gets boring. With nothing new to experience it's not fun, at least according to Ink.
Ink is bored, not like it was uncommon, everyone gets bored. But Ink is unable to find something to drive away that boredom. Everything has come to... what did people call it again? Stalemate? yeah... that was it. Stalemate. Everything the Multiverse has to offer has become a stalemate, or a record on repeat.
Repeating the cycle, Nightmare or Error decides to attack, Dream or Ink has to stop them. The battle was a victory or a loss. Then a victory party or meeting occurs.
Let's not get too depressed now, despite this ever-boredom that has cursed Ink he still has fun, just not as much as he used to.

Dream is healing Ink of some injuries that he got when pranking some citizens of the Omega Timeline. How did Ink get some of these injuries just by pranking them? Thinking more about it, it probably was some of the fell-residents.

Nightmare whispers: Horror, you're secretly in charge.
Horror silently: Obviously.
