Sage's POV
Walking up the mound of stairs thats greeted us, I grin at Xan. We're hand in hand making our way into his parents house, and surprisingly i'm not nervous.
Actually i'm more happy then anything. Knowing that my baby if finally getting the justice he deserves— being put out of his misery. It brings me so much joy. Xan doesn't fully understand it yet, but this will give him the closure he needs in order to move forward in his life. Stronger.
And i'll be by his side every step of the way.
"I'm nervous." Xan voices surprising me. It's so unlike him to be so blunt about his feelings. This is progress.
"It's okay to be nervous baby." I explain stepping towards the front door. "Just remember we're all here to support you through this."
He shoots me a shy smile.
The door then opens showcasing a familiar brown-eyed man. Dixon!
He looked great—-handsome as ever with his hair now cut and locked up. He wore all black with a chain accompanying his neck. His skin, as usual beautiful.
He smiled big at me and I smiled even bigger back. It's been awhile.
"Oh my God, Dixon hi! How are you?" I gush mindlessly wrapping my arms around him. He replicates the action hugging my tightly.
"Sage. I'm well it's been awhile." He grins cheesing at me. Xan's suddenly arms wrap around my waist. Without a doubt striking his claim, and I almost sigh out loud.
Dixons eyes shift behind me acknowledging Xan with a nod of the head before turning back to me.
I subconsciously roll my eyes.
"What are you doing here, I thought you worked for Jade?" Oh Jade. The woman who started it all. There would be no Xan and Sage without her.
"I still do, i'm one of the best bodyguards in the state sweetheart. I kind of float around working for a lot of rich people." He explains seemingly proud of hisself and I nod. Best bodyguard in the state? I had no idea.
Xan tenses behind me, assumingely due to Dixons term of endearment.
"Makes sense. How's your sister?" I feel the need to ask. The little girl was such a glee to be around.
"She's doing great, annoying as ever. She's asked me about you a lot." Aww.
I gasp. "Why didn't tell me? I would've came to see her again."
"I didn't want to be a bother."
Frowning at him I shake my head. "You could never. I think we should schedule something for me, her and you to d—
"Sage we have something to do." Xan urges cutting me off, and though his composure was there. I could feel the anger and possessiveness radiating off of him in waves. Jesus christ.
"I don't mean to hold you Sage. Mrs. Kingman is in the family room." He turns his attention to my very angry boyfriend. "Mr. Kingman." Nodding his head once more.
