Sage's POV

Groaning to the sound of my alarm I quickly turn it off and get out of bed making my way to my shower. I step in feeling the warm water cascade down my body. I then began washing my hair until i'm interrupted by the sound of my phone ringing.

Stepping out of the shower I wrap a towel around my petite frame and pick up my phone answering it to be met with a deep but smooth voice.

"Are you going to send me the location?" Xan asks his voice laced with sarcasm.

"Yeah sorry." I reply awkwardly before hanging up and sending the location.

I sit my phone down and make my way to my huge closet picking something cute to wear. It's hot outside so I decided to go with a cute little yellow dress that hugs me all in the right places.

I comb my hair out and straightening it before grabbing a few rings and heading out the door.

I decided I didn't feel like driving so I asked Liam my personal driver to take me. Liam was 45 years old and happily married to his wife Selena with two kids.
He was really sweet and I love talking to him.

"So who's the lucky guy?" Liam asks wiggling his eyebrows in the mirror causing me to giggle.

"There isn't a lucky guy Liam I'm just meeting to talk about some business. You know I have too much work to do to be worried about a relationship." I say smiling softly at him.

Its not like it isn't the truth. There isn't a day where I'm not getting a phone call about business. I just don't have enough time to be in a relationship.

"Sage, sweetheart, you shouldn't let work stop you from finding someone that makes your happy." He advises looking at me sadly.

"When you find your person, you'll make time for them." He explains smiling at me before stopping in front of the restaurant.

I smile back.

"Thanks Liam tell Selena and the kids I said hello."
He nods at me before driving off.

I look over to see Xan and boy does he look good.

Wait what?

Get a hold of yourself Sage.

Xan has a light blue dress-shirt on thats cuffed at the ends showing off his built arms and tattoos. His black pants seem to fit him perfectly. His black hair is geld back a few strains falling down onto his forehead and his eyes— oh how mesmerizing those white eyes are.

I immediately stop staring when he spots me and i make my way towards him. I catch his eyes scan me quickly before making his way into the restaurant. He was totally checking me out but I wont say anything.

We sit down at our table and i can't help but feel a little awkward—I mean come on i'm sitting here with a man I've despised for so long. It's a little weird. He looks up at me with a blank face and I don't dare drop mines.

Two can play at that game Kingman.

"Thankfully a waiter makes his way to our table saving me from the unwanted silence.
