The way of life is so strange. Eywa has a lot to bring to us. Whether it's good or bad.
Ao'nung looked out towards the water with a worried face. It's been about 4 months since his father's passing. Not yet forgotten. He looked down at his hands, his fathers, cape. Something the chief wears, and after today he'll wear it from now on. It had feathers, of orange and yellow, the length of the cape was made from bright orange and yellow fiber, and the top of the cape was lined with blue and purple feathers.
He let out a sigh before looking back at the water, he wasn't sure he was ready yet for this. It scared him a lot and feels his father hadn't taught him everything before he left. He was brought to his thoughts when he heard movement from behind him.
Turning his head over his shoulder he smiled, turning his whole body to look.
"How's my handsome man doing." You said smiling, Ao'nung let out a low laugh walking towards you, setting down the cape in the process. He reached out and took your hands.
"I could be better, to be honest." He said with a weak smile. This made you frown, putting a hand on his face, he leaned into it.
"Why is that, I feel like you should be excited, you cant change anything about this anyway, live up to it. I thought you were tougher than that." You stated, Ao'nung only rolled his eyes at you with a smile, he leaned in and gave you a quick kiss on your lips.
Your eyes grew big, and you had a flabbergasted face, your ears perking up. You and Ao'nung have never shared a kiss so publicly with one another, the chances of being caught scared you. He let out a laugh at your reaction, knowing it was good. He stayed close to your face, you snapped out of your thoughts before batting your lashes and smiling.
"That was new." That is all you could say to the boy.
"I think it was well needed." He said, he reached his hand behind your neck, his other resting on your hip. You looked at his lips and then back up and him. He was smiling like a dork, making you smile as well.
You both leaned in, connecting once more, it was passionate and caring. The kiss lasted longer, it was warm and you didn't want to leave it. It was interrupted when you guys heard someone clear their throat. Awkward.
Both turning around you noticed it was Ronal and Jake. Even more awkward. Your ears went back avoiding eye contact along with the fish boy, ready to be scolded. But it never happened.
Jake came over to you placing a kiss on your forehead and Ronal did the same to Ao'nung, making you both look up. What was said next shocked both of you?
"We would like you two, to mate," Ronal said Ao'nung looking at her with a stern look.
"That's only if you guys would like to pursue something like that," Jake said, Ao'nung then looked at you with a smile, who was already smiling from ear to ear. Ao'nung then looked at his mother, who was also holding his new baby brother. Giving her a soft smile, saying "We'd love that." Before scaring him and you when they heard a bunch of screaming coming from outside.
It was both of your siblings hiding out and listening.
"They get to fuck now" Lo'ak could defiantly be heard saying that, Jake let out a "Hey!" before hearing snickering. Ao'nung looked at you rolling his eyes in annoyance, mouthing that your twin is an idiot.
"What is fu-" You heard Tuk's voice, your eyes widening, Jake mumbling 'That's it's before marching out and telling them to scram. You smiled at your siblings. Ronal took both of your hands seating you guys on your knees. Jake came back to join you guys.

Everyone was lined up, all dressed up in their ceremony clothing. You looked at Ao'nung with a smile, and him sending you one back. He was nervous, but he took a deep breath before he held his arm out to you for you to link with him.
