Chapter 9
Adventure

I stirred myself awake, the noise of pandora's wild life filling my ears along with the rustling of leaves dancing in the wind. I smiled slightly to myself nudging closer to the warmth that was keeping me cozy. My eyes jolted open with the realisation that I was cuddling with Lo'ak!. My heart rate picked up pace rapidly, and my face heated up.I looked at the position we were in my head was in the crook of his neck his head was resting on mine his relaxing breaths moving strands of my hair, I had a hand on his chest whilst one of his were draped across my side.

As comfortable as I was next to him I feared he could hear my rapid heartbeat so I decided to carefully manoeuvre through his arms. I was almost free when suddenly the arm that was once holding my side went to my back and gently pushed me back down. "And where do you think your going?" Lo'ak questioned his morning voice sending shivers down my spine. "No where, I was just gonna get a drink" I said nervously giggling which clearly gave away the fact that I was lying.
"Hmhm I don't believe you but I shall let you go" he said whilst removing his strong arm from my back I immediately sat up trying my best to regulate my breathing.
I could hear Lo'ak chuckling slightly, I turned to look at him giving him the 'shut up or I will kill you' look to which he did just that.

I was pacing back and forth.'I'm bored'.
Is the only thing I could think of after being told by Lo'ak to basically not move a muscle for the past few weeks has been hell and why I listened to him I do not know."Lo'ak can we do something today,something other than staying in this tree watching the sun rise and fall" I said frustration clear in my voice.I also wanted a distraction from the constant reminder that Pearl died, the feeling that I did nothing to help her was eating me alive.
"I guess we could but I don't know if you will like what I have in mind" he said the smirk displayed on his face worrying me.

Before I had a chance to ask what he meant he began doing a animal call? I presumed. We do something very similar to call our animals but it sounds different.
Lo'ak started walking onto one of the long outer branches, I followed close behind.His movement came to a stop, and before I could comprehend what was going on a banshee landed a few centimetres in front of him this causing me to back up slightly out of surprise.

I knew that he had a banshee. I remember him on one when he arrived at my clan. However seeing it up close was mesmerising.The pattern of green mixed with a blue and some slight yellow was stunning and suited the animal perfectly.

I watched Lo'ak closely as he petted the banshee whilst saying "its nice to see you again" with an adoring smile on his face. He didn't waste any time and climbed onto the back of the animal, he extended his hand towards me "wanna go on an adventure?" His words made a smile appear on face in an instant, I would be an skxawng to say no so I said "yes!".

Being seated behind Lo'ak with my arms securely wrapped around his waste felt.Nice and calming, however the fact that I was about to fly off this tree with him was contradicting that calmness. "You ready?" Lo'ak said looking at me over his shoulder. I just nodded the rush of emotions making it hard to voice out any words. He took that answer and went with it. He secured the bond and moved us to the the edge. I took a deep breath in looking down at how high we were. I felt a hand on my thigh my worry subsided and my attention was now on Lo'ak. " you will be fine Räya I promise" he said in his soft tone. "I know" I replied back the thought of having Lo'ak there to catch me if I fell washed any remaining worries away like dust.

Then we leaped...

The wings of the banshee spread whilst my stomach dropped, I clung on tighter to Lo'ak my head now against his back. After a few minutes I noticed that we were flying more smoother so I hesitatingly lifted my head and looked around. I was at a loss for words. The wind was carrying my hair behind me kissing my face as it blows by. The many different species of flying animals were below us flying in their own flocks. "Lo'ak this is amazing" I said in a tone that so clearly showed how taken away I was. "Yeah it is, when I fly I just feel so... free" I understood where he was coming from I guess flying for him is the same as swimming is for me, your able to get away from everything and just feel like nothing else matters.

After flying in a comforting silence I had a question that I wanted Lo'ak to answer.
"hey Lo'ak" I heard him hum in reply to show me that he was listening. "How did you tame your banshee?" I questioned. I was just curious as I wondered if it was the same as us when we tame our ilu. "It takes a lot of preparation and patience, a banshee or ikran whichever you prefer are tough animals to seal a bond with however it can be done and once done an ikran will only bond with one navi in their whole life" he explained.
"Wow" is all I could manage to say, so nothing like taming our ilu I laughed at myself internally.
"Why, would Räya want to try and bond with a banshee?" Lo'ak questioned, I could hear in his tone that he was joking but the thought of having my own ikran to fly with made my heart flutter.
"Yes, yes she would"

So Räya wants to bond with a banshee I wonder if it will be successful or not.
