Horror was cooking and smiling while his lovers were in the living room playing board games. Nightmare was happier and not focused on his self-hatred anymore. The pain was still here, and Horror knew that his little moon didn't forgive himself yet, but it seemed that time helped the guardian.

The cook watched Killer trying to coax Nightmare to lend his cards to him, with puppy eyes. Cross was arguing with their little gremlin about his cheating, and soon the two of them started to fight. Killer won and was sited on Cross's back, smirking.

"I won! Nightlight look! I fight for your cards and won!"

"That's not how you're supposed to play killer." Dust stated with a tired and exasperated look.

"Just wait 'till I get your cards, Dusty!"

Nightmare and Horror were laughing. Every time they tried board games it ended like this. Horror was still wondering why they even tried to play according to the rules. Suddenly Nightmare's laughing became more like a coughing fit.

The guardian was doubled over in pain and grabbed the table to help his balance so he couldn't fall. Cross who was the closest to their little moon helped him to stand up before leading him to the couch.

Horror looked at Killer who looked like he just saw a ghost, the face of the murderer was livid. Softly Horror approached him and took his hands when he saw they were already getting closer to his favorite knife.

"Killer he'll be okay. It will pass like the other times." Horror said trying to ease the rage and murder envy of his lover.

Honestly, he was scared too, Nightmare's crises were closer and more regular in a few days, they seemed to be more painful too. Of course, the cook was scared for their little moon, just as everyone but they needed that at least someone didn't lose its head.

It was hard for everyone to see their little moon getting sick because of the lack of negativity but now that the negativity was at its lowest level Dream was more powerful than ever. When Killer called them to speak about Nightmare's state they didn't even hesitate one second before jumping into a portal, to cause negativity for the guardian. But they left the raids for too long and now they couldn't stand a chance against Dream and his friends.
Their injuries and broken bones could testify that for them. Because of that Nightmare used a lot of magic in order to heal their wounds and now he was sicker than ever.

"Guys, he's spitting blood!" Dust exclaimed, wiping the blood, or more likely the marrow, out of the goop of his moon while Cross was holding the guardian's head.

Killer clenched his fists so hard that marrow or magic, Horror didn't really know, dripped between the bones of his hands. Horror on his side didn't lose any second and went to get the first aid kit where they put their monster candy. Perhaps one could at least help the guardian since those candies also helped monsters to recharge their magic level.

Cross hurried and put the candy in the guardian's mouth when Horror came back with the kit. It seemed to have a good effect on the guardian since his breathing came back to normal and after a few minutes, he stopped grabbing his chest.

With one tentacle Nightmare gathered Horror and Killer close to him, Dust, and Cross. He took Killer in his arms smiling as always. The little gremlin was a mess. Black tears were dripping down his face and stained his clothes and the carpet. His soul was making a weird scritching sound that couldn't be good and his hands were shaking.
The guardian took away the knife that Killer was now holding again and started to comfort the murderer with sweet words. Horror could see the purple magic of his moon driving its way into Killer's, after that it was only a matter of seconds before the murderer calmed down.
