Before the storm

I was having a completely normal day. Well as normal as you can get being a demigod. I was with Annabeth at the beach when everything went sideways and upside down.

"Percy?" Annabeth looked worried about something.
"Yea Wisegirl?"
"I think we need a break." She said looking down at our hands and letting go.
"W-why? Did I do something wrong? Please tell me what I did wrong and I will fix it." At this point I was crying. The ocean was getting really grey and people could probably tell something was wrong because they were coming to the beach.
"It-it's just not working. I'm sorry. I just need a break. I need to focus on me for a while. Probably for a long time. I'm sorry Percy." With those words the girl of my dreams went to walk away causing everyone to gasp. They never thought they would see the day this happened.
"Annabeth wait." I ran up and grabbed her hand. She looked at me as I summoned a small box from the sea." I was going to give this to you but now I see you don't want it I will give it to you as a reminder. Just know that I love you." I pushed the box into her hand and walked away. Inside was a beautiful promise ring made of silver with small emeralds crushed into it in the form of waves. 

For the next few weeks I stayed in my cabin. It rained 24/7 inside and outside my cabin. I tried IMing Poseidon and had no luck.

After an entire month in my cabin I feel asleep as I had tried not to sleep as much as possible. When I woke up I heard someone knock on my door. It was Nico. This was the first time he ever came to my cabin. 

"Perce look we are leaving. We got a quest but it's gonna be hard ,we may not all come back. I don't think I will come back. Just know that you are still a hero to me. I guess this is goodbye. I hope I come back alive." I heard Nico sobbing. I couldn't do this to him. I ran to the door and slammed it open ignoring the stares of astonishment coming from the campers. I ran to Nico and gave him a hug.

"Who is going?" He was still trying to get over the whole I'm out of my cabin thing."Nico who is going on this quest?"
"Me, Leo,  Hazel, Frank, and.................. Annabeth." He said sadly.
"How many are supposed to die?"
"2" I couldn't believe it five demigods going and only three will return. I gave Nico one last hug.
"Come back alive or I will kill you." I said. Nico smiled at me, it was good to see a smile.
"I will." With that I turned back to my cabin ready to hide again." Percy I want you to promise me something?"
"Anything." I said determined.
" Don't lock yourself up in your cabin. Please. "
" I can't do that Nico. Not while you're gone. When you come back I'll come out of my cabin. We can spend an entire day together just you and me. Do we have a deal?" He nodded as I closed my door and locked it. I was left thinking about Nico. After the Giant War he had told me he had a crush on me. At first it was a little awkward but now we are good. He's like the little brother I never had. I hoped he came back. I hope they all come back, even Annabeth. 

Over the next few days I found myself thinking more and more about the quest. Something about those five just seemed off. I decided to ask Chiron about it. As I got ready to leave I realized that i wasn't wearing shoes earlier and my feet were bleeding. So that was another reason to go talk to Chiron. I was just about to open my door when an Iris Message appeared in front of me. It was Chiron with Nico?

~okay so i fixed this chapter so yea!!!!!! anyways probably by the end of today i will be done. okay bye my minions.~
