No way

"Wait, what?!" I couldn't believe what he was saying.

"We are currently at war with Nyx. Who ever it was that took her corrupted her mind and turned her against us." I sighed.

"So she basically doesn't have control of what she's doing?" Chronos sighed and nodded. I pulled him up and nodded to the soldiers who closed the door. I led Chronos to the throne room and let him sit down and called one of the medics forward."Hold still, she can help you."

"No she can't. We sent you these people because they are useless." I growled and stepped back. I turned to the army.

"Shape up!" I turned back to Chronos and glared at him."Maybe you sent them because they were of no use to you but never, and I mean never, call my soldiers useless. We have been here for four thousand years and we have ALL grown stronger. If you disrespect my soldiers again I will throw you out and Never open the doors. I will protect my people and leave you to rot. Now, stay still and let Karin help you or I will let you suffer." Chronos gulped and nodded sitting still. When I turned back to the army I smiled at them and saw them smiling as well. I was about to speak when Chronos interrupted.

"Wait, did you say four thousand years?" I nodded and turned back to him.

"Yes. Why?"

"It's only been a thousand years since we sent you in. How has it been so long for you?" I chuckled.

"Something we found is that the castle chooses how time flows around it. It choose to speed our time up and the rest of the universe is slowed down. Of course we also realized that although I can open the doors the castle won't let us leave." Chronos looked dumb struck and I turned to the army and smiled."You are all dismissed to return training. I will care for Chronos along with Karin and we will see you at dinner this evening." The army saluted and dispersed for their various training exercises.

"Amazing. I didn't know the castle was sentient." I chuckled and motioned for him and Karin to follow me.

"It is. Now, follow me to the infirmary. You can ask questions if you wish." We slowly made our way through the castle as I answered all of his questions when he finally asked one I couldn't answer.

"So, why do they look up to you so much? I mean, I know they know your story but they've never seen you in battle and you haven't lead them through anything dangerous." I stopped walking and turned to him.

"I.....honestly haven't got a clue." I shrugged and continued walking slowly when Karin spoke up.

"I know why." I smiled at her small voice. Karin is the nervous type who doesn't speak unless she's required so for her to speak on her own is great.

"Really? Would you mind sharing?" I nodded encouragingly at her and got a small smile in return.

"Well, when we first got here we were all loyal to our patrons even though they sent us away. We didn't really want to follow him but one day we saw the real him. There was a small child who had gotten hurt in training but we had all been taught that if you were injured it was your problem so no one helped her when suddenly Lord Perseus was in front of her kneeling. We all thought that she was going to get in trouble but to our surprise he just reached out and put his hand on her wound and healed it. He helped her up and explained that she wasn't in trouble and what she needed to work on. He then pulled out his wings and gave her a feather and told her if she needed him then she could always go to him. Then he turned to us and we were scolded for ignoring her and told that we are a family now and that that means looking out for and helping each other. It was then we realized that he was better then our previous patrons and as new people arrived we explained it to them and they soon saw it themselves." I stood shocked. One because she talked so much and two, because I didn't know that that they trusted me so much for something so small.

"Wow, so does that mean he knows everyone if you're a family?" I nodded along with Karin.

"I know everyone's name, family, patron, favorite food, birthday, preferred weapon, fighting style, special skills, and the unit of the army they are in."  Both of them looked shocked.

"Wait, you have how many soldiers?" I counted them in my head before responding.

"Three thousand four hundred and eighteen." I watched as Chronos' eyes widened and Karin chuckled.

"And you know that about every one of them?" I nodded and watched as he got a curious look on his face."What about Karin?" I nodded again.

"I know that all about her too." He looked challenging and I sighed. Usually we would have been at the infirmary already but we have to go REALLY slow.

"Prove it." I raised an eyebrow at Karin and she nodded.

"Karin doesn't have a lost name so she uses mine, just like the rest of the soldiers without them and several with them. As far as family? Orphan. Patron? Hemera. Favorite food? Cookies. Birthday? Unknown so she shares with me like several others who don't know. Preferred weapon? None. Fighting style? Hand to hand. Special skills? Best healer we've got. Unit? Medical or 1.  Anything incorrect?" Karin smiled and shook her head.

"How? How do you even know their favorite foods? They change!" I chuckled at his question.

"I'm family with all of them and ask every week. Heck there are people who change every three hours or don't have one." Karin nodded and smiled at me as we finally reached the infirmary. I bowed to them.

"Lord Perseus you don't need to bow to me. In fact I should bow to you." I shook my head and held the door open.

"No way! You guys are Unit 1 for a reason. You are my most treasured unit and deserve the respect rarely given to you. Now, I will see you at dinner. Let the other's know I say hello." She nodded and walked in. I closed the door and the smile dropped. I was wrapped in my thoughts as I walked back to my room. Nyx has been corrupted and Erebus is going crazy. The castle won't let us leave and my family is getting bored. We need to leave soon and help. I need to talk to Chronos more and the castle. I sighed as I reached my room and slid down the back of my door rubbing my hand down my face.

"No way is this happening. No way."
