"So it finally happened? You died." Landon was smiling sadly. I was confused but I guess when you're friends with the creator of the universe that happens.
"Yea I died. But, Landon?" He laughed.
"Oh, I'm not Landon. Close but not really. I am Chronos. Chaos and Order have been missing for years. So I do what I can to fill their spots." I nodded. Makes sense.
"Okay. Why am I here? I should be in Tartarus reforming." Landon smiled.
"Well a friend of mine wanted to see you. Her name is Jade. She's a bit scary but you'll get used to it. Oh, and.... Never mind." I shrugged and followed him through the halls. Finally we reached large black doors with engravings of ancient battles. He pushed open the doors and I followed only to freeze and avert my eyes to anywhere but the woman in front of me.
"Hello Perseus. I hear you died." I heard he walk closer to me and I just stood and looked to the side.
"Yes I died. I take it you are Jade." It wasn't a question. She laughed and I cringed her laugh was to feminine. She was forcing herself to act like this, she was testing me.
"Yes Perseus I am Jade. Now why won't you look at me?" She sounded upset with the last question and I knew this was killing her.
"Well, because it is obvious you are not comfortable in those close and you are testing me. Plus, I do NOT need to see you practically naked. She laughed and I realized it was a normal laugh. She was almost done
"But, Perseus I won't go away till you look at me." I sighed because I knew she was telling the truth. I looked at her but just stared at her face. I had seen enough of her in the first look. She was wearing a blue laced up top that cut off right below her breasts and a blue mini skin tight skirt. To complete the look she was wearing sky high leather boots and feather earrings. She had her hair in a messy bun and smiled sweetly at me. As I looked at her face I realized she really was beautiful but this was uncomfortable for her. As shown by the nervous fluttering of her wings on her back. I smiled at her and she smiled back before she was enveloped in a black like and when it was gone she look much more comfortable.
She was wearing a set of black and grey armor that covered all but her face. She had a leather jacket with spikes on it that was torn and tattered by the rages of battle. Her hair was now cut in an a-line at her chin. She was wearing a black mask that covered all but her eyes. I smiled again and bowed. I knew who this was.
"Thank you Perseus. I am glad you are a good man. I have had for to many experiences with pigs." I let out a small laugh and stood.
"I'm glad to hear that I am a good man. I doubt it myself sometimes." I couldn't see her frown but I heard it i her voice in the next thing she said.
"Why would you question if you are a good man?" I sighed. How do you explain to someone what it's like to let someone kill your mother and sister. I was already questioning myself before I left camp.
"Because, I have a tendency to let people around me die." I sighed and looked the ground. I heard her sigh and looked up to see her removing her mask. Under the mask she was beautiful. She had high cheek bones and pail skin, she had dark eyes that were almost black and scar that ran from under her right eye across her lips to the bottom of her left jaw. Some would think the scar would ruin the face but it made it better. She rubbed her face and looked at me.
"Perseus, you could not help your mother. Your sister Phoebe was destined to die, you saved her. She is here, alive because of you. Your friends that died in the war, they died for a noble reason. You are not to blame." I looked at her and saw she was about to cry. She knew how it felt to feel as if you caused death. I walked forward and hugged her.
