We'll be switching perspectives throughout the book. When we enter someone else's POV it will usually be at the start or near the end of a chapter. Anyways, enjoy Junior High Midoriya!

I woke up to my alarm clock screeching in my ear. I haphazardly slapped at the clock, accidentally knocking it off the bedside table. When it hit the floor it practically shattered on the hardwood.

'Unfortunate. I'll have to replace that later,' I thought as I stared at the broken clock.

I swung my legs to the side of my bed and got out, careful to avoid the pieces of the clock. I normally set my clock at five so I could have two hours to get ready and head to school.

I headed to my bathroom—well, it was the guest bathroom but we never had guests so I thought of it as my own—and stared at myself in the mirror. I brushed my hands through my tangled green hair, and splashed my face with water as I did my daily skincare routine.

My eyes were a dull green and freckles littered my face. I really couldn't care less about how I looked, but I had to keep the acne away somehow.

I exited my bathroom and grabbed my junior high uniform, putting it on and then sweeping up the clock. Afterwards, I finally went to eat breakfast.

I hardly felt like making my own breakfast and instead grabbed microwave ready rice to eat instead. My mother was still asleep- and she would be till around 6:30, so I simply ate in silence by myself.

I was a slow eater. For as long as I could remember I have been. So, by the time I finished eating I could hear my mother waking up. I got up from the table, and put my bowl in the sink.

'I don't feel like speaking with her right now' I thought as I quietly slipped back into my room before my mother had the chance to see me awake.

I shut and locked the door behind me as I entered the room. I quickly grabbed my schoolwork and hero analysis notebook from my desk and shoved them both in my bag. I yanked the thing onto my back and unlocked my door.

I stood there for a moment. Today felt like it would be different. I had a sinking feeling in my gut, 'Whatever could this be about?' I thought as I stepped out of my room.

Mom was sitting on the couch watching the morning news. I stood in the foyer for a moment watching as well. Some story about a missing person.

"Oh, that's horrible! Please be careful Izuku-" I heard my mother say. I hadn't noticed her turn around to face me.

"Of course I'll be okay mom, I have a strong quirk," I responded, grasping at the air to make a shadowy pocket knife.

Mom sighed, "I know sweetie, I just don't want to see you hurt," she grasped her cheek and her eyebrows furrowed with worry.

"I'll be fine mom!" I let out an exasperated sigh and opened the door, leaving the house.

As I walked my normal route to school I watched the sun rise. It was always beautiful and was one of the few things in life I enjoyed. I fiddled with the pocket knife I had made, tossing it in the air and catching it.

When I felt someone's eyes on me I accidentally dropped the knife, cutting my palm in the process. I grabbed my hand and let out a little gasp.

Momentarily forgetting why I had even dropped the knife in the first place I swung my bag off my shoulder and began to search for band-aids. I always kept a box on me— you could never be too careful!
