Avery's pov
A few hours later, people are in the outdoor area of the studio drinking soda and eating snacks when Julie runs into the studio wearing a white wrapped shirt with butterflies on it and parachute pants. Her hair is tied up in a half ponytail with butterfly clips holding the ponytail in place.
We all look at her from the couch and chairs before adjusting ourselves so that we aren't are very squished.
"You guys ready?" She asks us, fidgeting with her bracelets.
"Think so," I say, kicking Reggie and Alex since they keep fighting over the cushion beside me. "Are you?" She sighs and nods, clearly not confident in her answer. I get up and move to the chair next to them, tired of Alex and Reggie pushing and shoving each other.
"Hey, we're gonna do great, you should know this by now," Luke says with a smile from the couch.
She nods and looks at the closed doors when we hear Flynn's voice over the speakers. "What's up everybody!" Flynn says over the speakers. "Time to put your hands up, do a little dance, yup. Here's the new anthem from Julie and the Phantoms," Flynn says, getting the crowd to cheer before Julie looks at us before opening to studio doors and sitting at the piano.
"Thanks for coming everybody," she says as we watch her from behind before she starts to play and sing the song.
"Running from the past, tripping on the now. What is lost can be found, it's obvious," she sings as we grab our instruments, knowing we join in soon. "And like a rubber ball, we come bouncing back. We all got a second act inside of us," she sings as we join in just in time for the chorus before she grabs her microphone and stands up, joining us.
"I believe, I believe that we're just one dream away from who we're meant to be. That we're standing on the edge of- something big, something crazy our best is yet unknown, that this moment is ours to own. 'Cause we're standing on the edge of great," she sings, walking to Reggie, Alex, and Luke but leaving me alone and off to the side.
After the chorus, Luke starts to sing his chorus as Julie comes over to me. "Dude, what the fuck?" I whisper to her away from my mic but she just shakes her head in response, making me roll my eyes before joining in again.
"Sometimes we gotta lean, lean on someone else, to get a little help until we find a way," we all sing as I walk over to Luke ignoring Julie as we sing the chorus again. "Shout, shout, come on and let it out, out. Don't gotta hide it. Let your colors blind their eyes, be who you are don't compromise. And shout, shout, come on and let it out, out. What doesn't kill you makes you feel alive," we sing as Julie kneels on her piano to sing into the crowd before I walk away from Luke and start to play a guitar riff. She sees me and awkwardly moves to look down at me as I look up at her, smiling that I finally got her attention. "Now we're standing on the edge of great," she says, standing up on top of the piano before I move over next to Luke again.
