Julie's pov
Somehow Flynn and I managed to get over the fence to the house and peek through the windows before seeing Carrie in the kitchen and Nick in the living room. We both duck, hoping that neither of them can see us before running up the door and ringing the doorbell. I peek through the window again but disappear behind the door when I see Carrie walking toward it.
"Hey!" Flynn and I say to Carrie when she opens the door.
"What are you two doing here? And how did you get over the security gate?" She asks, clearly not excited to see us.
"Teamwork," I say, giggling awkwardly. "Do you have a band-aid? The barbed wire's new," I say, clenching my hands together trying not to make a face at the stinging sensation in my hands.
"What do you want?" She asks, putting her hand on her waist in annoyance.
"Uh... Just thought you should know that Julie's band is playing the dance tonight," Flynn pipes in, pointing to me.
"Now you know," I say awkwardly.
"You guys are acting weirder than usual," she says, clearly not impressed.
"Probably because we're dehydrated," I say, shrugging, trying to play it cool. "Can we come in for a glass of water?"
She rolls her eyes and sighs before moving out of the way of the door. "If it'll make you leave faster, fine."
Carrie walks away from the door and Flynn and I look at each other before I point into the living room, silently implying that we should search that room first. We both run awkwardly into the living room, trying not to make any noise even though Carrie already knows we're here. Flynn and I walk across the living room, not seeing any ghosts, making me sigh.
"Where are you?" I whisper quietly, making sure Carrie can't hear me.
"I'm... I'm right here," a low voice says from the couch and my eyes widen before I turn around slowly, my heart dropping when I see Nick sitting comfortably on the couch.
I start laughing awkwardly and look at Flynn. "Nick! Look, Flynn, it's Nick! Nickster, Nicky-poo, Nick-a-licious," I say, pointing to Nick before lowering my voice and whispering. "Make it stop."
Flynn laughs at me and looks back at Nick. "Hey! Glad you're here, Nicky-poo!" She says, making me roll my eyes. "We wanted to tell you that Julie's band is playing at the dance."
Nick adjusts himself to sit on the edge of the cushion and nods, a large smile on his face. "Oh yea. I saw your post."
"These girls bothering you, babe?" Carrie asks from the kitchen before walking toward us, two glasses of water in either of her hands.
"No, just telling us about the dance tonight," Nick says, turning around and watching as she hands us our glasses of water.
"Right, Julie and her hologram band," she says laughing before taking a seat beside Nick and wrapping her arm around his shoulders. "How'd you learn how to do all that hologram stuff anyways?"
"The internet," I say quickly, making up an excuse. "It's not just full of makeup tips," I says, making Carrie shoot me a deadly look.
"Uh... What do- What do you say, babe?" Nick asks, looking toward Carrie as she shrugs.
"Sure," she says, crossing one of her legs over the other. "Let's check out the hologram show."
Nick smiles cutely at Flynn and I then shrugs. "Great. I'll make sure all my buddies are there."
"Ooh! How exciting," Carrie says, with unusual peppiness in her voice. "That's a lot of people staring at you." I clear my throat and duck my head, knowing she's right before she starts talking again. "You girl's remember where the door is, right?"
I smile tightly at her and nod. "Yeah," I say, bending over just slightly enough for my glass to spill. I try to hide my smile but can't so I chuckle awkwardly instead. "Oh my gosh, I am so sorry," I say before she starts to stand up. "No, no, no, no, I know where the towels are," I say as she sits back down before I hand my glass to Flynn and start to walk up the glass stairs to the second floor.
"Guys!" I yell, whispering loudly before I reach the top of the stairs. "For your sake you better not be up here," I say when I get to the top of the stairs.
I make a left turn and walk toward the meditation room and notice that his CD player is unplugged. I then walk into the bathroom that was attached to the meditation room and see two notes written on the mirror. The first one I recognize as Luke's writing that says, "Hello, Bobby." The writing of the second note I don't recognize but from the message I assume it's from Avery. "Look's like you can't fuck me anymore. Love, A," the second one reads.
I roll my eyes and laugh before I hear the sound of a helicopter leaving, making me bolt down stairs but I slow down when I'm in view of Carrie and Nick, acting like everything's normal. I sneak through the front door and walk in front of the three angry ghosts I let loose.
Alex, Luke, and Reggie are all bent over, mooning the helicopter while Avery is standing in the direction of the helicopter with her sweater above her chest, flashing the helicopter.
"So, did you guys have fun?" I ask them, making the boys stand up and pull up their pants while Avery turns around quickly, letting go of her sports bra and sweater, letting it fall over her chest.
"Okay, you would do the exact same if he stole all your songs," Luke says, pulling up his pants.
"But you have new songs, with me," I say, making a point that I should've said earlier.
"You do have a point," Avery says, sighing. "But just because we have new songs with you doesn't mean that we don't want our old songs back."
"The best way to get back at Trevor, is for our band to do great," I say, looking every single one of them in the eyes. "And to do great, we have to play dances, then clubs."
"Then tours. We know, sweetheart," Avery says, walking in front of me and smiling down at me slightly.
I feel the blood rush to my face and I duck my head and clear my throat, hearing her chuckle before backing away. I look up, trying hard not to look at Avery but my eyes flash over to her for a second, that damn smile still on her face so I look toward Alex instead, suddenly seeing the horrifyingly similarity between him and Avery.
I swallowed the lump in my throat as my smile fades. "I'll see you guys at the school. We go on at nine. Please don't be late, there's going to be a lot of people there."
Alex smiles at me softly. "We got it, alright? Don't worry."
