Luke's pov

"Okay, so what's our plan," I ask her, as she rubs her hands up and down her face before starting to chew on her nails through the gloves, deep in thought.

We're quiet for a moment, knowing she's probably seen more of this place than us. She looks up at the clock behind. "Shit," she whispers to herself.

"What?" Alex asks, as he rubs her back but she doesn't answer. "Ave, what is it?"

She looks up at him before flicking back to the stage and then back to Alex. "She's already on stage," she says, looking around at all of us and to Alex again, holding his confused gaze. "You three need to go. Alex you go first, then a minute later, Reggie, and then you," she says, smiling tightly at me.

"What about you?" Alex says as I stare at her paralyzed in fear of what's to come.

"I'll come right after Luke, now go," she says sternly before Alex poofs away. A minute later she turns to Reggie before he nods at her and salutes before poofing away.

Another jolt hits her and I, making us groan as her flicker and her hand go through me again. When she stands up again, she looks up at me with tears in her eyes and I immediately start shaking my head. "No. Ave, no."

She nods as she eyes fill with tears. "You need to, Julie needs you, not me."

"She needs you more than she needs me," I plead with her as tears start to fall from my eyes again.

"Well that's not-" another jolt hits her, and only her this time, making us turn our heads to look at Caleb who was staring at from the stage. "That's not happening," she says looking back at me then to the stage quickly before looking at me with tears in her eyes.

"But I need you," I whisper quietly to her, making her strong mask slip.

"Expect disappointment, and you'll never get disappointed," she says, putting her mask back on.

"That's not fair though," I say as we see that Caleb is starting to walk toward us so she starts dancing like all the other girls in the club.

"Life's not fair, Luke. If it was we wouldn't be dead and would be married with kids that are Julie's age," she says, running her hand down my chest, quickly checking to see if Caleb is still watching before standing back up. "But you need to go," she says looking me dead in the eyes.

I try to poof out but I flicker in between the Orpheum and the club. I look at Julie which makes her, Reggie, and Alex start to play more intensely in hopes that I'll be able to join them.

When I flicker back into the club, Caleb is marching toward rather slowly by my surprise. "They're playing for you, you need to go," she says as she stops dancing and places her hands on my arms.

"No," I say in response.

"Come on, Luke! This isn't negotiable! Why won't you just trust me?!" She says, snapping at me.

"Because I can't lose you again!" I yell back at her, as her mask falls, revealing a scared little girl.

She grabs my cheeks and kisses me softly. "You're gonna have to," she says before pushing me away and walking toward Caleb and redirecting him away from me. As she walks away she looks back at me and smiles sadly before Caleb grabs her chin, making her look ahead of her.

I stare at my feet then up at the ceiling before making my guitar come to me and poof into the Orpheum. "I'm going outta my mind," I sing when I poof in, making Julie hop toward me and I smile at her as I'm silently dying on the inside, my eyes still filled with tears. "Whatever happens even if I'm the last standing I'mma stand tall, I'mma stand tall," I sing, finishing my solo as Julie realizes that Ave isn't here make me shake my head sadly at her, her smile falters but then she remembers we have a performance to finish. "Never look back," I practically scream, considering this song has a whole new meaning for me now, before it's Alex turn to sing.

"Whatever happens even if I'm the last standing I'mma stand tall, I'mma stand tall," he sings, standing up from his stool behind his drums, his shirt unbuttoned down to his pants.

"Whatever happens even if I'm the last standing I'mma stand tall, I'mma stand tall," Reggie sings but another voice joins him in the background, making Alex, Julie, and I all look over to Reggie but I can't see Reggie because someone with shoulder length blonde hair is standing in my way, making my eyes fill with happy tears as I walk over to her and pull her into me so that we're singing in the same mic.

We start to sing the chorus again and Ave sees Trevor sitting in the audience with Carrie so blows him a kiss but puts her middle finger up instead, making me smile. We all walk to the front part of the stage and sing together in two separate mics. When we finish the song, Alex, Ave, and I grab each other's hands and raise them above our hands before bowing and poofing away.
