Ricky quietly shuts the bedroom door behind him, making sure not to break her fragile sleep. It's a little past 9 am. The blinds are shut in the living room, specks of light slipping through the covered sliding glass doors into the dim lit kitchen-living room. He rubs his eyes, stretching as he lets out a yawn.
"good morning" a quiet voice says, spooking him. He blinks repeatedly, looking over to the couch. Frankie's sitting in the corner of the couch, wrapped up in a throw blanket with one of his mugs enveloped in her palms. She chuckles lightly "cat got your tongue Bowen?"
"haha very funny" he grumbles, plopping down on the couch next to her. "I made coffee"
"Aw Francine am I slowly wearing down your cold dead heart?"
"It's been a day don't flatter yourself pretty boy, I am simply making my Korean ancestors proud by being an exceptional guest" she puts her back of her hands under her cheeks, cocking her head to the side, smiling sarcastically.
"ahh how faithful of you oh mighty guest" he bows dramatically, before walking over to the kitchen island; pouring coffee into a glass, followed by sweetened almond milk from the fridge. She smiles rolling her eyes.
Ricky places his glass on the coffee table, silently walking towards the deck area and tugging at the white strings. The blinds pull up into a tight bundle, sun seeping into the spacious apartment.
"EUGH" Frankie squints aggressively, covering her face with her palm.
"morning sunshine!" Ricky smirks, satisfied with himself.
"I will drop-kick you"

"She's gonna be pissed at you, you know? she never sleeps in" Frankie remarks, now sitting on a tall stool at the kitchen island.
"She's barely slept last night, she kept waking up and she's vomited twice, she's exhausted"
"mhm" Frankie hums "she rarely sleeps an entire night, been like that since I met her, past few months have been slightly better" she offers a sympathetic smile. "still you're gonna have to wake her up she switched a shift with someone she's working the 12-5 shift, she texted me at like 5 am and I quote 'wake me up or i will kill you' "
"stubborn" he grumbles. "what's her favorite breakfast food?"
"she likes bagel sandwiches but the kind where the bread is soft? and black coffee with like two table spoons of condensed milk cause she doesn't love creamer"
"you up for a walk? there's a CVS down the road"
"sure let's go"
The pair puts on their coats, layering up before walking to the lift. They walk down the snow ridden pavements through the posh neighborhood, stopping at the large convenience store around the curb. They quickly grab a cart, getting some essentials. Ricky gets a tin of sweetened condensed milk and they walk over to the bakery section. The pick the mini bagels, silently agreeing that it would be less overwhelming than the large ones.
They get back around 10:15, Frankie helps him make breakfast. "You should go wake her up now" she tells him as they finish up in the kitchen.

"Yeah"
He walks over to his bedroom, gently turning the door knob. She's curled up in the middle of the bed, the comforter drawn over her up to her chin, it's freezing cold in the room. Cosmo's curled up behind the pillows. Ricky makes his way over to the bed, sitting down on one side. He brings his hand to her face, delicately tucking her hair behind her ears. "Ace" he coos "it's 10:45" he shakes her slightly, not wanting to startle her. Nini begins to stir, rubbing her eyes. She sits up yawning "It's late" she mumbles, looking at the digital desk clock on the bedside table. "It's okay love, you needed the sleep"
She leans into him subconsciously, it's quiet, they stay like that a moment, taking in the silence. She stands up a few minutes later, washing her face and throwing her hair into a loose bun. "Hungry? Frankie and I made breakfast" he chirps.
