the prophecy...

Mrs.Beaver smiled at the five children in front of her. "He's been away for a long while..."

"But he's just got back." Mr.Beaver looked ecstatic. And that's when it hit her. Aslan... She had said that name in her dream. She cleared her throat and interrupted their explanation.

"He wouldn't happen to be a lion, would he?"

She thought the beavers would look at her as if she was insane, but their grins increased tenfold. Mr.Beaver nudged his wife. "Of course, she knew."

Mrs.Beaver smiled. "It's a true pleasure to have met you, my lady."

The four siblings looked at Alex with astonishment. Peter spoke first. "How did you know he was a lion?"

Alex blushed. "I- I had a dream. The night of the bombing, I had a dream I was in the forest, and I was running and then-" She smiled, reminiscing as if it was a memory. "He appeared."

Mr.Beaver continued on. "He's waiting for you all at the Stone Table as we speak!"

Mrs.Beaver smiled. "It's just like the prophecy foretold."

"What prophecy?"

Mr.Beaver scoffed. "They don't even know the blooming prophecy!"

Mrs.Beaver nodded and gestured toward the children. "Well, then..."

He sighed. "Look, Aslan's return. Tumnus's arrest, the secret police, it's all happening because of you!"

Susan looked puzzled. "You're blaming us?"

Mrs.Beaver shook her head quickly. "No, dear. Not blaming you. Thanking you."

"There's a prophecy." Mr.Beaver said with a hushed whisper. "When Adam's flesh and Adam's bone sits at Cair Paravel in throne, the evil time will be over and done, seer and sword becoming one."

Susan scoffed. "It doesn't even rhyme."

He sighed. "I know it don't, but you're kinda missing the point here!" Mrs.Beaver continued explaining. "It has long been foretold that two sons of Adam, two daughters of Eve, and the Noble Seer will defeat the White Witch and restore peace to Narnia."

Peter looked at the beavers as if they were crazy. "And you think we're the ones?"

"Well, you better be, because Aslan's already figured out your army."

Lucy gasped. "Our army?"

"Mum sent us away so we wouldn't get caught up in a war."

Peter looked at Alex for help, but she was still caught up in the prophecy, staring at the ground trying to decipher it. He turned back to the beavers. "I think you've made a mistake. We're not heroes."

"We're from Finchley."

Alex muttered under her breath. "Mostly."

Susan stood up quickly, putting down her napkin. "Thank you for your hospitality, but we really have to go."

Beaver spluttered. "But you can't just leave." He looked at Alex desperately. "You have to know something about this."

Alex turned bright red. "I'm sorry, Mr.Beaver, but I'm not a seer. I just had a dream..."

Lucy looked up at the elder children. "He's right. We have to help Mr.Tumnus."

Peter shook his head. "It's out of our hands. I'm sorry, but it's time the five of us were getting home. Ed?" He turned around, his face dropping. Edmund was nowhere to be found. "Ed?!"
