the return of the boy...

Alex trudged up the hill, huffing at the dress as she tripped over the bottom. She just wanted a nice place to look out over the camp, and relax for a few moments. She had almost reached the top when she heard a deep voice.

"Peter, I will do what I can to help your brother, but I need you to consider what I ask of you. I too want my family safe."

Alex tiptoed back. This seemed like the type of conversation you shouldn't interrupt. She'd almost gotten away when she tripped over a rock. She yelped.

"Ow!" Her eyes widened, and she clapped her hand over her mouth. There was a rustling at the top of the hill, and Peter's face was seen soon after. He smirked, stopping in front of her.

"Hello there."

She glared at him, dusting off her knees as she stood up. "Hello."

He crossed his arms. "Eavesdropping, Alexandra?"

She rolled her eyes. "I was just trying to find a place to relax." She smiled up at Aslan as he appeared behind the blonde. "Sorry, I interrupted."

The great lion laughed. "Nonsense."

She grinned. "I- I'll leave you alone."

"NO!" Peter blushed. "I- I'll walk with you."

Her face was definitely red. "Alright then." Peter held out his arm, and Alex had just hooked her arm through his when a horn rang through the air. The pair's eyes widened, and Peter sucked in a breath. "Susan!"

...

Peter crossed the river, his sword pointed at the wolves jumping at his sisters. "Get back!"

Lucy yelled out from the tree. "Peter!"

Alex jumped off Aslan's back, her swords drawn. She ran out into the river, but Aslan shook his head. "This is Peter's battle."

Maugrim snarled. "Come on. We've already been through this before. We both know you haven't got it in you."

Susan yelled. "Peter, watch out!" The second wolf was sneaking up behind Peter, and Alex was itching to run across. She looked at Aslan, and he nodded, running across the river and pinning the second wolf down.

Maugrim continued with his little villain rant. "You may think you're a king, but you're going to die like a dog." The wolf lunged, and the three girls yelled.

"Peter!!" Lucy and Susan jumped out of the tree and ran over to Peter. Alex sheathed her swords and ran over to them, helping push the wolf off of their brother.

He gasped, immediately pulling his sisters into a hug. His eyes were red, and he sighed out of relief.

Aslan released the second wolf, addressing his army. "After him." He looked at Oreius. "Bring the girl."

Alex left Peter's side, and Oreius held his hand out. "My lady."

...

The camp was dark and dingy as they approached. All sorts of creatures were about, and it almost made Alex sad, seeing all of these Narnians who didn't know any better. She unsheathed one of her twin swords, jumping off Orieus's back. She ran towards Edmund, a grin on her face.
