Tears sprung into Felix's eyes as he read the note.

Why had he received this? What did Hyunjin want from him?

Along with the letter there was a red rose. It was honestly disturbing. He needed to know why he was being given these, what for?

It almost felt like he couldn't breath.

Holding the letter tightly, Felix allowed himself to finally cry. He realised he hadnt done that since this whole ordeal started. It felt strangely relieving.

There was no question about him going to see who this person is. Yes, he knows its stupid. Yes, he knows he'd probably be the first person to die in a horror movie but...

A chance for any sort of closure or answer is what he needs.

It doesn't seem like Hyunjin would go through all this effort to kill him...right?

So at least he knows he can leave with his life by the end of it.

Felix stuffed the note into his pocket, then he remembered something. Carefully he parted the petals and reached to the back of the locker to unzip the pencil case.

He was careful not to prick himself on the thorny stem of the rose. It looked like whoever gave it to him had picked it today.

When he took it out inside there was no longer a key...it was compelty empty.

It made sense, Hyunjin must have come back for his key. It would be suspicious if he didn't have his for such a long time.

Felix wiped his eyes, trying not to allow the horrible feeling of dread overcome him.

He could face this. Albeit he came to this school only with the issue that he couldn't pass maths, now this has been thrust apon him.

But its fine. Clearly this has happened because of him, so it makes sense that he should be the one to set things right.

Felix waited in anticipation for the time to arrive. He barely slept that night, constantly awake trying to figure out if there's something he missed. It was difficult to go back and notice the small details, it wasn't like his life was a story and he could check the recent chapters for mistakes. What was he not noticing that would have been vital to explain the position he is in now.

What could he have done different?

Well, there was no changing it now thats for certain. So all Felix had left to do was face it.

He walked around school almost like a living ghost. Not quiet there, but present enough to respond. His mind reeling with a hundred different explanations.

Oddly, the sightings he got of the student council were sparse and far in-between. Looks like they're busy too. Or maybe they know something he doesn't.

Probably.

It seems like they've been keeping secrets from him for a while now. They knew something he didn't, Felix felt obligated to now find out what that was.

After school Felix waited till the time on the note explained to start moving. It had said on the back he should come when the sun is just beginning to set along the pear trees.

With a breath, he pushed open the back door and made his descent across the path to the back of the school. The best part about being in the student council was that you could stay however long you wanted and go anywhere at school without being questioned.

The gardeners shed was a rather large building, as you'd expect for a prestigious private school. It was begining to get horribly dark. The sun slipping lower and lower beyond the treeline. Notably, above the door was a circular window that the lowering sun was only just filtering through.

While clutching his hand to his chest, Felix pushed open the already unlocked door to the shed.

The whole inside was dark, it took his eyes a moment to adjust to the room. Looking around he could see shelves of equipment and flowers stacked up in rows. At first, he had thought he'd been tricked and no one had really come to meet him.

Until all of a sudden his eyes focused on a silhouette stood just a little way away from him. The rapidly depleting light just shy off the persons position.

Felix gulped, mustering up all the courage he could to speak.

"Hyunjin, I know its you. Come into the light, why don't we talk about this." Felix was sweating but all he could do was shiver. Goosebumps rising all over him. He couldn't anticipate how these next moments would unfold, but regardless he was going to face this.

A cruel, dark laugh echoed around the space. He flinched.

"Hyunjin, did you say?" A voice that was definitely not Hyunjin, however it was one Felix didn't recognise- no he hadnt heard been used before. "I'm quite offended you think someone as emotional as him could pull off something like this."

"Come out," Felix trembled, "show me who you are."

The figure stepped forward, a beam of light from the window highlighting his features. He had bright blue hair and braces. Also a part of one side of his hair was pulled into a pony tail by a little white ribbon.

Felix thought back to when they first met in the sixth chapter of his life, a boy so innocent he couldn't believe he would ever do anything wrong.

Felix held the rose in his hand a little tighter.
