Long ago, when Diavolo's father was going to pass over his duties to his son. There was meeting.

Whenever the ruler of the Devildom or Celestial Realm is changed, a meeting is held between the two realms. So, Diavolo, his father and Barbatos had to go to the Celestial Realm since in the last meeting, the angels had come to the Devildom.

"Dad, what will you do now?" Diavolo asked.
"Well, bud. I'll go and sleep in Purgatory" his father said with a grin.
"Isn't that where the doomed beings go? With no chance of redemption?" Diavolo asked.
"Yes, it is, but it's fun to trouble them!" His father replied and laughed. Diavolo smiled and laughed too.

(Yes, his dad is good this time)

They reached the Celestial Realm and were greeted by high ranking Angels. Specifically, Lucifer, Simeon, Raphael and Michael.

"Welcome to the Celestial Realm!" Simeon greeted. Lucifer gave a smile. Raphael just stared as they held their spear. Michael was fascinated, the Demons were always fascinating to him.

"Pleasure to be here" Barbatos replied with a bow and smile of his own. They were escorted to the ceremony room where everyone was present. Even the current ruler of the Celestial Realm. Their name was only known by the Devil. Otherwise everyone only knew their title of 'God'.

"Hello, Devil" he greeted.
"Hello, God. How have you been?" Diavolo's father asked with a passive aggressive smile. The two didn't have a good relationship.

Barbatos was told to relax by Diavolo and do not take care of him in any way. Barbatos agreed and sat down at one place.

Simeon approached him with a smile and a tray of snacks. She put the tray on a table beside Barbatos.

"I hope you enjoy these sweets!" Simeon said. Barbatos was shocked. Over the years, they had learned how to distinguish between a genuinely happy voice and a forced happy voice. Simeon was genuine.

"Would you mind giving me company, Mr..?" Barbatos said as they got up.
"Simeon! Simeon Theikos!" He replied.

(The last names are made up. They are not the official Canon last names of the characters)

"Well, I am Barbatos Fidele. Pleasure to meet you Mr Theikos" Barbatos said with a bow. Simeon also bowed. They sat down and talked the whole time until the ceremony started.

After the ceremony, Barbatos gifted Simeon a crystal ball for communicating. Simeon happily kept it with him and talked to Barbatos whenever possible.

Today was the day the exchange program began. Everyone had mixed feelings about this. Lucifer saw this as a task. He needed to keep the human safe.

Mammon was wondering how to scam the human. Levi was just playing on his switch. Satan was reading a book with a cat on his shoulder wondering if the human will be smart or not.

Asmodeus was looking at a mirror and completely forgot about the world. Beelzebub was chowing down on a 7-feet hot dog.

That's when a portal opened and Barbatos walked through it with the human. The human was sleeping. Barbatos left them on the ground and went back to standing behind Diavolo.
