Silence reigned between the two metkayina teens, a silence more deafening than a chorus of screams.

The tension was oppressive.

Ísyai's mood could easily be seen by the irritated wagging of her tail.

She was so angry that she had to use all her self-control not to run after Shàe, grab her by the hair and teach her a good lesson.

That type of people only stop bothering you if they are afraid of you and what you can do to them, and Ísyai knew it well; in her previous life she was surrounded by people like that, selfish, who thought they had the right to own everything, snatching it from others too, and who targeted the different, the weakest just to elevate themselves and feel superior.

Ísyai took several deep breaths, slowly counting to at least 30 to calm down.
She didn't want to unload all those negative emotions on Ao'nung, making the situation worse between them.

Right, Ao'nung; now she had to decide what to do with him, how to act.

Sincerely, Ísyai, after witnessing the scene above and hearing all the mean things Shàe had said with the intention of hurting Ao'nung where he was vulnerable and taking advantage of it, she (Ísyai) wanted to do nothing but hug and fill with love and care her boyfriend but there was too much tension between them that it was impossible.

A solution had to be found.

So Ísyai did what she did best: improvise.

She turned to her boyfriend and said :

"I think Shàe made some sort of upgrade: from blood-sucking leech to shit-talking bitch, amazing" she said pretending to be impressed.

The nonchalance with which the girl said it, made Ao'nung laugh a lot, whose infectious laugh made even the female teen giggle.

It was a success, the tension was broken and with that also the wall that was created between the two.

After the laughter stopped, the male teen opened his mouth with the intention of apologizing for everything, but before he could utter a word, Ìsyai stopped him:

"I know." she said getting closer "I know you're sorry and that you regret what you did; I know that it was just a joke and that you had no evil intention; and I know that you're a skxawng but not a bad person " the girl positioned herself in front of her boyfriend.

"You're young Ao'nung, it's okay to make mistakes, the important thing is to learn from them and not do them again" with a smile, making the other teen smile a little bit too.

In this peaceful moment the girl raised her arm and flicked her forehead strongly.

"Ouch. Why did you do that?!" said the metkayina boy;

"You had to be punished somehow for your mistake, don't you think?" said the girl with a playful grin;

The boy looked at her with disbelief before chunking.

Oh Eywa, how much he had missed this. This humor of hers, her being unexpected, her teasing smile, the way she always knew how to say the right things at the right time,... simply her, he really missed her.

Unexpectedly, Ísyai flicked his forehead again with more strengh.

"Ouch. WHAT HAVE I DONE NOW?!" he said with a betrayed expression, rubbing the now red and sore area with one hand.

"Oh, something even more serious" she sighed " Ao'nung, how can you ever think that I don't want you anymore? How? After all our promises, our plans"

"I- all I did was disappoint you. I... I'm not the best for you, Ísyai. You're so mature, compassionate, funny, kind, just wonderful and perfect; and I... I'm just the arrogant and stupid Olo'eyktan's son, who almost got a forest boy killed. I'm a failure, I'm not worthy-"

"Hey, hey, don't say that. Don't say that. You're not bad Ao'nung, you're only not flawless, just like anybody.

Nobody in the world is perfect, but it is precisely in being imperfect that there is beauty.

You're amazing just the way you are, only you don't see it... but I see it" she said cupping his cheek and looking him straight in his beautiful aquamarine eyes "I see you, ma' Ao'nung"

Ao'nung put his hand on hers, caressing it delicately with his thumb, and his expression softened a lot, staring at her like she was the most precious treasure in the world, his treasure; and she was.

How lucky he was to have Isyai.

Ao'nung was convinced that even if he thanked Eywa every day, it would never be enough for having blessed his life with someone like his beloved one.

Closing his eyes, he gently rested his forehead on hers, cupping her cheek with his other hand.

An intimate and sweet gesture that perfectly expressed their feelings in all their intensity.

The sweet silence gently cradled the two as their souls conversed and their hearts beat in unison.
