More than a week passed since then, the 'red night' was upon us and the Awa'atlu village was abuzz. The 'red night' was a natural phenomenon whereby after the eclipse period, the light did not go away completely, giving life to this sort of burgundy red hybrid sky.
The Na'vi considered this day extremely special, believing that on this day the connection between Eywa and her children was stronger, as well as the connection between them, members of the community.
It was a 'festivity' in which many rituals and prayers were performed to strengthen these 'connections' but also dances and songs around the bonfires.
In particular 'the red night' was especially special for single Na'vi, in fact during the traditional dances the single males invite the females to dance and if the female accepts then she gives the possibility to that male to court her.
Many couples were formed on this occasion and many lovers decided to mate for life during this 'sacred night'.
For this event the metkayina teens had to teach traditional dances to the forest teens.
While Ísyai's duty as a teacher was easy, as Kiri learned quickly and was a great dancer, Híkmoe and Tsireya seemed to be serving some kind of divine punishment.
In fact the two forest boys sucked at dancing, they seemed possessed by some evil spirit when they tried.
Ísyai laughed so hard every time she watched them.
It was absurd and hilarious how uncoordinated they were and their ability to didn't get even one step right, despite the fact that Híkmoe and Tsireya had been teaching the two to dance for at least a week.
Ísyai was sure that at this point people during the event could only watch them dance in one way:
by covering their eyes.
And it was at times like this that the metkayina girl missed the cameras.
Oh, she would have given anything just to be able to record the scene, which would then be passed down from generation to generation to posterity as an heirloom.

Neteyam was rehearsing the steps for the thousandth time, and for the thousandth time not one of them was right.
He was terribly frustrated and embarrassed.
How was such a thing possible? He was a warrior, a little dance should be simple for him, right?
WRONG
The son of Toruk Makto couldn't do a little dance. He felt so ashamed.
The only thing that kept him going was the thought of being able to dance with Híkmoe and show others that she accepted his courting.
He hated how the other males looked at his girlfriend and he intended to show to them his sort of claim on Híkmoe during the red night.
So he tried and tried, hoping to succeed... but he failed every time, and every time he did it in front of her teacher, Híkmoe.
Neteyam wanted to sink underground in embarrassment and it didn't help that his girlfriend laughed a lot whenever he screwed up.
He sighed sadly.
Well, at least he was trying, his brother gave up after the first day.

The 'red night' had arrived and Ísyai was extremely nervous. At the sacred rituals performed by the Tsahík during the celebration, the tsakarem also had to participate in the execution, and this would be the first time that Ísyai would participate, as Ronal had only now deemed her ready to do so.
