It had been a couple of days since Ao'nung's prank that could end badly and since then, Ísyai and he hadn't spoken to each other.

Ísyai was not angry with Ao'nung, she was just extremely disappointed in him and his behavior.

She knew that Ao'nung was only making a prank and taking a little 'revenge' towards Lo'ak for punching him, and therefore the intention was not to hurt Lo'ak, but things could have worked out very badly and the forest boy might not go back to his family.

Ìsyai shook her head, trying to get rid of these thoughts that only put her in a bad mood.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a figure seated in her favorite spot, with a sullen expression on his face: the lucky to be alive Lo'ak.

'Oh Eywa, what happened now? Ísyai wondered tiredly.

The girl approached the forest teen and sat next to him.

"Miracle boy, now besides being a troublemaker you're also a thief?" she said playful grin

"What? I didn't steal anything" he replied confused

"This place is my secret place" she told him in a whisper

"Oh, I'm sorr-" he began

"Don't worry, we're friends and you're my sister's brother in law, I can make an exception" she stated with a grin

He rolled his eyes trying to hold back a smile.

"So..., tell me about it"

"Mh?" said Lo'ak with a quizzical look

"This is a perfect spot for when things don't go right, so speak, what's bothering you?"

Seconds of silence followed, in which Lo'ak evaluated whether speak or not, unsure of Ísyai's reaction.

"They told me that the Tulkun that saved me is a killer and I should stay away from him. I don't believe it. Why save me if he's as bad as they say?" finally he said

"Mhh. You're right, it wouldn't make sense for him to save you." she nodded while saying this

Lo'ak let out a breath he didn't know he was holding and relaxed a little, at least she believed him.

"So why doesn't anyone believe me when I say it?"

She thought for a while before answering sincerely:

"Lo'ak, people always choose the easy way out. It's easier to believe that you are miraculously alive and that Tulkun is a murderer, than to unravel stories and beliefs that have been passed down for years and are known by all. You must not give weight to what other people think or believe, Lo'ak, but only what you believe. What do you believe? What does your gut tell you? That's what's important."

"I'm not sure, I...I want to know the truth, I...want to trust him"

"Then follow your instincts, follow what you feel, you won't go wrong. "

"For sure I will be wrong Ísyai, everything I do is wrong"

"Miracle boy, don't say that;
you're young, you're just looking for your way, your place in the world, it's okay to make mistakes"

He sighed sadly

"I wish my father thought so too, instead he sees me only as a source of shame to the family"

"Hey, it's not true. Your father loves you a lot, he's just extremely strict and has very high expectations. He only wants the best for you, he's trying to bring out the best of you, using the wrong method, so that whatever happens you are ready.
