Mother Nature

Once a time, the world was green,

The air was clean, the oceans blue and serene.

Nature was untouched, a world of beauty and peace,

Humans lived in harmony, with nature's release.

As civilization grew, so did war and greed,

Nature was destroyed, with each new deed.

Tall buildings rose, oceans and lakes polluted,

Nature suffered, as humanity deluded.

Mother Nature, her trees cut down,

Her oceans and air, now dirty and brown.

Her forests and land, drilled and mined,

Her children, ungrateful and unkind.

She cries as bombs fall, wars rage on,

Her sacrifices for her children, now seem gone.

Volcanoes, earthquakes and ocean waves,

Are her only ways to show fury and rage.

Oh dear Mother, we beg for your forgiveness,

We know we've caused you much pain and suffers.

We'll try to do better, to heal and restore,

Your beauty and wonder, forevermore.

We'll shower you with love, and do our best,

To make amends, for the harm and neglect.

Forgive us dear Mother, for we did not know,

The devastation, our actions would bestow.
