Kayla gave me a room in her house and a bunch of her old posh clothes. I changed into a long purple dress that she gave me and a pair of her shoes. I had to blend in to the Victorian era.

I joined Kayla and John at the dinner table where we were served by some of their servants. Kayla's girls had their dinner earlier so it was just us three. Everything was quiet until John started to politely ask me about myself. "So, how do you and Kayla know each other?" He asked.

"Our parents knew each other and she used to look after me as a baby." I lied. I couldn't say that we were best friends in 2015 because I would come out as crazy. "Do you have any other family you could have gone to?" I started to get the feeling that he didn't want me there. "No. I am an only child, my grandparents have all passed and I have no aunts or uncles."

"John, I don't think Lucy feels comfortable answering these questions." Kayla said after noticing my sad eyes. I didn't want to talk about my family. They weren't even born yet and I would never see them again. "I'm sure she's fine Kayla."

"Just stop asking her questions. It's obviously upsetting her."

"No. She is fine Kayla. While she is in my house I want to know who she is! Listen to me!" John's voice got angry and I could sense that he didn't like me. Kayla stood up from the table and walked out of the room. "Thank you Lucy for making me shout at my wife." John said staring angrily at me.

"You think I did this?" I shouted standing up. "You need to speak to your wife with respect and trust me more! I may be a stranger to you but if Kayla trusts me then you should accept that instead of asking me questions about my life that I do not feel great about answering. You should listen to your wife once in a while." I stormed out of the room and followed Kayla who was walking into her bedroom sobbing.

I opened the door and sat on the bed next to her. I hugged her tight just like we did when we were in our time and we were comforting each other. "He's never shouted at me before." She said calming down and pulling herself out of the hug.

"It's okay. I gave him a piece of my mind. He better respect you now otherwise he's going to get more than words." She giggled and so did I. Kayla wiped her eyes with a handkerchief as there was a knock on the door. "Come in." She said. John came in slowly and asked, "Can we talk?" Kayla nodded and I quickly gave her a hug before leaving the room. I gave John an evil look as if to say,"Don't you dare make her sadder than she is." If looks could kill.

I went to my room and fell onto my bed. I laid there for a while before my door opened and John stood at the entrance. "What?" I asked him. I was still mad.

"Kayla said I had to say sorry for upsetting you earlier." He said.

"And are you?"

"Yes. I'm sorry Lucy."

"I accept your apology." I stood up and got up in his face. "But if you hurt or upset Kayla again your going to regret it. If any one ever hurts my best friends they will get a piece of me." He looked threatened but he knew I meant business. He left and I sighed. I didn't mean any of that and I would never hit or shout at anyone. This was a first for me. It must have been my anger from John moaning at Kayla and shouting at her. She was always sensitive when people shouted at her but hid it and kept her reputation on being a loud and fearless party girl. I guess being in a different time had changed me a bit.

I sat on my bed for a while and thought. If the mansion was built then what if the angels were there. I had to see. After Kayla came in and said goodnight and everyone had gone to bed I crept out of the house and went to find the mansion. I had changed into my converse again in case I did any running. I wasn't planning on staying if the angels were there.
