The next morning came and I was dreading what I had gotten myself into. I didn't want to do the dare but I didn't want to be shown as a wimp, even if it meant that there was a slight chance that I could have ended up like them other kids. My parents were out all day because they both worked late on a Saturday and didn't come back until midnight as they normally went to dinner after work or they went out to the pub with some friends.

That afternoon, I kept getting Facebook messages from the kids at school.

"OMG! Are you seriously going to go into that death house? You're so crazy!"

"Good luck."

"I'll remember to tell the teachers why you are absent!"

These messages came all afternoon, rushing through like a river. I didn't think anyone would really care but I guessed that there would have been spectators. Kayla and Alisha got these as well but ,because they were more popular than me,  there was more pleads and begs for them not to do the dare. No one really cared if I lived or died. They would have carry on with their lives if I had died. I was a no one.

I had to choose an outfit. I know that sound like I was a bit of a typical girl, trying to find an outfit that suits the occasion, but I only really needed some warm-ish clothes. I chose my black shorts, black tights, red checkered shirt with a black shirt to go under it and my black high top trainers.

At 11:30 in the night, I started to walk up to the mansion. Before that, I left a note for my parents to read when they came back from wherever they were. it read,

"To Mum and Dad. I'm at Alisha's house for the night. Hopefully be back by tomorrow morning, maybe the afternoon. I have taken my clothes and essentials up there so no need to bring anything up. Bye, love you!"

I lied about going to Alisha's house for the night because I couldn't exactly tell them that I was going into an old mansion where kids have gone missing and may never come back.

The mansion was only about ten minutes up the road from where my house was but I needed to meet Alisha at her house, which was a few houses away from mine, and we were going to have a snack there for a few minutes. I guess it was a bit of a fair well snack, just in case anything happened.

I got to Alisha's house and her parents were gone. We ate some sandwiches and a bag of crisps each and left. We didn't talk much. We could have small chats, laugh and then stay quiet. After we finished our crisps we decided that it was time to go so we left.

We got to the mansion at ten to twelve. James, Kayla and Tom were already there. Kayla looked nervous and she looked like she could have cried on the spot. I had never seen her so scared. The mansion was nearly hidden behind grey mist and around it stood old gravestones. James and Tom were talking until they looked over at us and stopped. "Hi girls!" Dan said. I waved and Alisha carried on walking to Kayla. I stood with them and whispered, "Are you okay with this?" My voice sounded as shaky as my nerves. "Yeah." Alisha murmured by I could tell, even from behind all of her make up, that she was terrified. "We can back out of this you know?"
"We're fine!" The boys walked towards us.
"Change of plans. You can go in there now. We can't be bothered to wait any longer for this." Tom smiled. I gave him an evil look then turned to face the mansion. "Ready?" Kayla asked. I nodded and Alisha just looked down. "Come on girls." Kayla tugged Alisha towards the old doors and I followed behind them. "Remember, don't come back out until you've explored all of the house." Tom said.

Slowly, I pushed the doors to the mansion and the door creaked open. I shivered. Kayla was the first to walk inside, then me, then Alisha. Suddenly, from out of nowhere, there was a big BANG! Dust from the ceiling fell down onto our heads. We screamed. I stood as still as a statue, my limbs wouldn't move and my mouth stayed open. I was sure that I could turn and run when I could hear the other's shouts getting quieter and the door creaking again. I turned to see that the door was quickly shutting. Then it closed.  I frantically tried to get it open by pulling the dusty handle down and pulling it to get the door open. It was locked...
