No way, no fucking way. Avery's rich now. Hope she gets rid of that car...

"He left everything to her?" Skye yelled, not the same woman you met earlier. How could a woman who made you hold her son's hand, be so engulfed by rage at the moment. "Why?"

"Who the hell is she?" Zara impatiently asked, maybe a bit more angered than her sister.

"There must be a mistake." Grayson's voice spoke up. Despite everything he was promised went to a girl he just meet a little while ago took it from him, he was calm? But there was no way he wasn't as frustrated as his mother on the inside.

"He's right." Avery said in a low whisper, as she was also trying to figure out what was going on.

"Grayson's right." She managed to say a little louder. "There must be a mistake."

"Avery-" You muttered, wanting her to stop saying to was a mistake. Can't she ever accept things? You knew all she was thinking about was the other eyes watching her.

"You see?" Skye said, trying to prove her point by using Avery's words as evidence. "Even Ava agrees this is ridiculous."

Now Skye is just trying to make Avery feel even less out of place.

"I assure you, there is no mistake." Mr. Ortega glanced at Avery, then the others. "And I assure the rest of you, Tobias Hawthorne's last will and testament is utterly unbreakable. Since the majority of the remaining details concern only Avery, we'll cease with the dramatics. But let me make one thing very clear: per the terms of the will, any heir who challenges Avery's inheritance will forfeit their share of the estate entirely."

"No will is that ironclad" Zara's husband said, "not when there's this kind of money at stake."

"Spoken," Nash Hawthrone interjected, "like someone who didn't really know the old man."

Jameson murmured something like he was entertained by all of this. And why was he looking at Avery like that?

"I think you should leave." Grayson said, directing it towards Avery, but looking at you. As if you were the issue on why Avery was still there.

"You can't tell her to leave. This is her house now." Literally. Avery had just inherited pretty much everything after a paragraph. Though, you would know what it'd be like, knowing that your own home was suddenly given to someone else.

"I don't understand," Avery said, just as confused as everyone else.

"Your friend is correct." Mr. Ortega kept his tone neutral. "You own it all, Ms. Grambs. Not just the fortune, but all of Mr. Hawthorne's properties, including Hawthorne House. Per the terms of your inheritance, which I will gladly go over with you, the current occupants have been granted tenancy unless --- and until --- they give you a curse for removal."

He paused to let that sink in for her. For everyone. "Under no circumstances, can those tenants attempt to remove you."

You knew you would've done something different from Avery. But Avery's heart would be to big to kick someone out of their home, unless if she had a very concrete reason to.

A military looking man came in between Avery and the Hawthrones, like he was protecting her from them. You never though you'd need security from people at this moment, but in the place, you didn't know what to expect.

"Oren!" Zara sounded shocked looking at the man standing in the Hawthrone's way. "You work for this family."

"I worked for Mr. Hawthorne. Now, Avery Kylie Grambs." He looked at Avery. "Security, you'll need it."

"And not just to protect you from us!" Xander added to Avery's left.

"Take a step back please." Oren ordered. So even if the person was like Xander, Oren would stay on task. That's useful.

Xander held his hands up, "Peace, I make dire predictions in peace!"

"Xan's right." Jameson smiled. "The entire world's going to want a piece of you, Mystery Girl. This has story of the century written all over it."
