Grayson and you took different book aisles. Jameson and Avery were alone . . . Together. Did you trust Avery, yes, did you trust that other guy? NO.

"Don't try any funny business, Jameson." You warned him.

"Oh y/n trust me, I won't do anything." He replied from downstairs. You can feel him smirking.

"Cause if you do, I will go down there and-"

"Y/n, remember what we talked about." Avery interjected.

You sighed heavily. Who's the older one at this point, you or her?

"And for a matter of fact," Jameson commented, "we might have to worry about you two."

"There's nothing going on between us!" You looked over to Grayson think he would say something but he just looked through books, like he couldn't hear a thing.

Maybe you shouldn't have told Jameson you were complaint with others...

"And he's not even denying it." You muttered to yourself. If something was going on between you, it was nothing but frustration and tiredness. Nothing like Jameson believed.

Hours went by of just useless searching for some clue. You could feel your eyes getting exhausted just from looking at a book. This could make someone appreciate librarians a lot more than they did before.

"There's nothing here." Grayson placed a book back on the shelf a little too hard.

"Well someone's angry" You thought, as you looked away, like you were worried Grayson could somehow hear your thoughts. Seems he can't always keep his precious cool.

"You know, you don't have to be here." You muttered, glancing at him once before scanning the books again.

"If Avery's here, I'm here." He explained.

"Huh, well, that's something we can finally agree on . . . Me being here, not you." Well that was stupid, Y/n. Obviously, he got what you said. Maybe he's so up tight he didn't, not like you ever heard a funny statement from him before.

"She doesn't bite," Jameson commented out of the blue, "Frankly, now that the issue of relatedness has been settled in the negative, I'd be game if she did."

What is dude implying? Or saying two at this point.

"Jamie? Shut up and keep looking." You could hear Grayson's tone getting more annoyed by the second.

"Oh man, shiver me timbers." You said to yourself. This time Grayson heard, clear by his glare at you. "I didn't say anything." Nice save-

You all then got back to work with the books. It felt like the clock just never stopped ticking. You could feel yourself just about to fall asleep. Yet, that feeling of sleepiness faded once, you and Grayson ended up being closer than you wanted. Sure, you two were a foot away from each other but it was enough that you could hear each other's whispers.

"My brother's grieving for our grandfather. Surely, you can understand that." Grayson quietly muttered to you. Oh so now's a good time for conversation?

"Right." You replied, just as silently as if you two were sharing some big secret. You weren't sure if he was trying to make a point, or just trying to test your empathy.

"He's a sensation seeker. Pain. Fear. Joy. It doesn't matter."

This statement caught your attention. So he wasn't making fun of you, good to know. You looked at him, pausing like you were genuinely interested on what he was about to say.

Grayson picked up on that and continued, "He's hurting, and he needs the rush of the game. He needs for this to mean something."
