Guys... I'm pretty sure my red flag crush hates me like genuinely OR he's just embarrassed to talk to me bc of how much others say they ship us. So I dont think imma talk to him for a bit and see what happens. BUT idk if I brought him up, but there this other guy, green flag btw, seems to like me and his friends are asking me stuff like he does. So who knows? Imma try to have more consistent writing bc I went from 230 ppl reading this to 71 😭😭

"No offense but you really don't know how to be calm." Jameson glanced over at you.

"I am calm!"

He could've sworn you were just about to tear off the door handle. Jameson looked at you tapping your foot. "Something going on with you?"

"What, no, of course not." You leaned your back against the door.

"Don't worry about it, Y/n. Let's talk about it, man to man." He wrapped his arm around your shoulder.

You crossed your arms. "Well, there's no 'it,' but sure." You had nothing better to do but wait for Avery. It's not like you'd normally talk to Jameson, but why the hell not?

"So Gray-"

"No."

"Okay, okay, touchy subject." Jameson raised his hands off of you as if you were going to punch him. "Then how about somethings else. Something that wouldn't make you go crazy, like you needing to trust me more with Avery, or you clearly being in denial about Gray-"

You eyed him. "What was that?"

"Nothing, nothing at all." Jameson smiled innocently. "How about..." He tapped his chin, looking up at the ceiling. "Oh, what was it like before you came here in Texas? How'd you get your parents to let you go?"

"That's... not important." You looked at the floor.

Jameson leaned towards you. "I'm sensing mommy and daddy issues."

"Say one more thing I swear."

"Come on, you can tell me. Avery has been wanting us to get along lately and getting to know each other is a great start, isn't it?"

"Sure let's just go asking each other about our parent issues. You know, while we're at it let's just share every secret about ourselves." You rolled your eyes. Jameson wasn't wrong though. Even from the first moment you met each other, things haven't been going smoothly between you two. As much as Jameson recklessness irritated you, there must be something you two could agree or speak on.

"Wow, you really need to learn how to relax once in a while." Jameson said in a partially surprised tone.

"Well it's not easy to feel normal after moving from some small town into some billionaires house with your friend in less than a week I think." But at least interesting things happen in the mansion rather than back at your home. Could you even really call it a home?

Jameson snapped his fingers right in front of your face. "Back to earth, y/n."

"Sorry, I'm... I'm just not feeling myself today." You paused. "That sounded a lot more honest than I thought it would."

Jameson nodded his head.

You both turned towards the sound of the door opening.

"That was a lovely chat, Abigail. Can't wait to talk like this with you again." You heard Skye from inside the room.

You were all heading out until you heard Skye call your name and told you to wait for a moment. The others looked at you, waiting to hear your response. You waved your hand and told them it was fine. You'd catch up with them later.

Around thirty minutes later, you saw Skye walk out in an over the top robe in your opinion.

"Glad to see that you waited."

"I'm just hoping that it was worth it."

Skye smiled. "Hm, I like your attitude. It gives a person much more personality."

She stood across from you in the hallway with a glass of champagne in hand. You were on the other side, waiting for what she wanted you to stay back for.

"How come I couldn't listen to what you had to say with Avery?" You titled your head.

"Because what I have to tell you, doesn't involve her, and I'm guessing that what I'm going to propose next you wouldn't want her to hear."

You raised your eyebrows.

Skye took a sip of her champagne. "You know, we have more things in common than you think. Even though we may seem very different at first glance, I believe that we both understand doing just about anything for someone, especially those who are close like family." She looked at you, waiting to see some reaction out of you. "I wanted you to stay back here without your little friend, because I have a proposal that will benefit you, Avery, my dear son Grayson, and everyone else in this household."

What does he have anything to do with this?  You wondered.

"I want you to convince Avery to give up the inheritance to the rightful owner."

What.

"It'd be easier for everyone if things just went back to the way it's supposed to be. You and Avery would go back to your home, and the Hawthrone family will get the inheritance as they should've. And I believe most importantly for you, Avery would be safe and not risk so much trying to figure out why she was even in the will in the first place." Skye drank a bit more of her champagne as if what she just said wasn't insane.

You felt a mix of shock and bit of offense that she even had the nerve to ask you to do such a thing. "Avery deserves that money. As if I'd even hint at her to give it all up."

Despite those words, you felt conflicted. You and Avery were doing just fine before the whole will thing. You two could've just continued living on without all of the internet drama and the pressure from just about everything. Maybe, just maybe, if you, Avery, and Libby just moved back to Connecticut, your guys' life could just go back to normal.

But that wouldn't make Avery happy.

"I expected you to respond like this. You don't have to accept this deal yet, but in the meanwhile, you will not say a word about this to anyone."

"Oh yeah? What's going to stop me?"

Skye let out a small laugh. "Isn't obvious?" Her smile shrank. "I'll let your parents take you back."

"What do you mean." Your eyes widened.

"I just know that your parents are just dying to get their precious son who has relations with a billionaire-" Avery or Grayson? "- back. We may not be in full power of the estate, but I have my ways. And if you share anything about my proposal, I will make sure you don't see Avery for a long, long while."

You stared at her in silence.

"I'll let you think about it." She finished the drink. "But I expect an answer eventually." Skye smiled as she began to walk down the hall way. "Nice chat, Y/n. I'll see you another time."

And with that she was gone.

Hey guysssss. Sorry for my super long hiatus, but I'm back but it's prolly best to not expect me to have a better consistent posting schedule. I think I started working on this like last year or something. But i've actually changed schools and im in a totally new setting and so past crushes are not relevant anymore. This is so weird I feel like I sound more mature in this little writing thingy. TRUST GUYS i'm still the same super awesome author. I am not going to discontinue this fanfic because i am wayyy to deep into this rabbit hole. Anyways, lets hope that the next chapter will be out soon lmao.

But as I think I've said before, I always come back.
