"Here's your destination." Grayson told you, like he was presenting it.

"I would thank you, but you've been a pain in my ass." You said slower the further you got in that sentence. You looked at him, already knowing he'd be glared at you. Which he was indeed.

"I'm required to say this." He took a deep breath. "... if you need me, then call." Grayson handed you a small slip of paper to you, looking like he was already regretting that he brought it up.

"Awh, you gave me your number?" You took the paper from it, holding it to your chest, pretending it was something much more sentimental.

"You know it's not like that." He said disappointed you were still playing around with him.

"I'm just teasing, Gray, don't be so uptight." You were about to punch his shoulder before you lowered you hand. You didn't even bother saying goodbye before you walked down the hall, hoping you were walking in the right direction.

You texted Avery, it being an excuse to not look up or behind you.

Y/n: Hey where r u??

Avery: I'm at the last door.

Y/n: alrgit, Im coming
        Alfight
        Alotht
        Forgot it
        SHIT

Avery: Wait

Y/n: what?

Avery: Earlier on call, did I hear Grayson?

You turned off you phone instantly. ONLY because you were at the door of course, no other reason.

You knocked on the door. "Hey, Avery, y/n here."

"One second!" Her voice answered on the other side.

The door opened, showing you a fancy office with awards and wooden furniture everywhere. It felt like it was a thousands time bigger than your room. What could a person even do with this much space? You gently closed the door behind you. So this was what Avery texted you to see.

You put your hands in your pockets as you spun walked around, "Sweet room." You said, now looking at the ceiling, which was way more interesting than the family photos in your home.

"That's one way to describe it." Avery answered

"So you and Jameson--" You plopped down onto a chair.

Avery knew what you were trying to do. "You and Grayson."

"Alright, alright, point taken." You raised up both your hands, chuckling.

If you couldn't try to get more out of Avery, then there had to be something else in this room for you to do. That was when you noticed a book of some sort, with Grayson's name in the spine. You picked up the book and opened it to some random page, to see photos. Multiple photos... Did he like to travel or something? You flipped through a couple more pages until you set the book back on its coffee table.

You turned on your phone to see if there was news on Avery's inheritance, ever since the paparazzi showed up at the hotel.

You walked out to the balcony. As you closed the glass panel behind you, you stared at your phone overfilled with questions and theories, especially about you and Avery.

Teenage Boy Dating Teenage Girl with Billions of Dollars!?
Claims of Relations with Avery Kylie Grambs.
And other crap like that.

All stupid guesses from other people trying to spice up the story where they couldn't fill in the blanks. Why fill replace the upcoming truth with impatient lies?

But something caught your eye when you came it, for it was your parents on the screen.

"We cannot believe our sweet child, that we loved dearly, has run away." Your mother cried into hour father's shoulder.

Your father place his hand on his wife's head. "We gave that boy a roof over his head, and gave him the life he wanted. And this is how he repays us."

You shut your phone of before you had to hear another lie from those people who call themselves, "parents."

They were just good liars, never parents. You never wanted them to forget to pick you up from school, making you have to walk your own way back. You never wanted them to make you move away from your old friends, just because they couldn't stay there anyore for "business issues." You never wanted them to forget your birthday, and then yell at you when you tried using your own money to buy youself something. And for the longest time you believed it was all your fault. It wasn't your return they wanted you to repay them with. It was the money.

Your phone now in your pocket, you rested your chin on your hand leaning on the railing, like you were waiting for something. You hadnt even realized it was cold outside until now. Your eyes wandered around. Down below, there was a swimming pool. And someone was swimming in it.

Grayson. You didn't even have to see his face. You could just tell by his dumb, nice blond hair. Who would even go on a swim at that time? Wasn't it cold? Well, if he kept swimming like that, then maybe you'd be moving too much to get cold. But why would he step out now? And why would he look to the sky?... Wait was he looking at you?

You had just been caught staring at none other than the guy who pisses you off. You backed up from the railing immediately, turning around a little too late, and hitting your face against the glass.

Avery heard the thud and looked at you rubbing your forehead as you slid open the door with your free hand.

"Are you alright?" She asked, concerned before laughing at you.

"Yeah, I'm all good." You pinched your nose to keep any blood from coming out. "I'm fine." You gave her a thumbs up.

To your luck, no blood. You pulled out your phone again. You had cooled from that video with your parents. All you spotted were news, emails from spams, messages from people you never talked to. And then you saw it.

"Avery." You called.

"Yes?"

"I just got a voice mail from Libby."

"What did she say?" Avery ran to your side.

You clicked the play button.

"Hey, y/n, find Ave before you heard this." It stopped for a few seconds. "I would tell you in person, but that's not fast enough. Anyways, so I overheard Zara's husband talking. They're running a test---a DNA test. On Avery."

You paused the voicemail to process what you just heard.

"Keep playing it." You did as she told you to.

"If Tobias Hawthrone was your father, then our dad--my dad--isn't. And if we don't share a dad, and we barely even saw each other growing up--"

"Don't you dare say we aren't sisters." Avery said as if she was actually here. She was the one who paused the recording this time.

"Hey." You set your phone down. "You should find her, and talk to her." You advised her.

"Yeah, I'll see you later." Avery said, now looking like it was urgent.

"Oh, right now?..." You looked at her. "I understand."
