The flow of water coming from a large river echoed in the small area in the mountains, it was filled with salmon a 20 year old Norie was ready to catch.

She wore pants that she always had rolled up to her knees and a beige shirt, Norie was currently trying to catch dinner for her and her mom. They both lived in a small house in the forest, they always have

Since the day Norie was born, their lives were always spent in that house. But sometimes she had dreams of living in the city, working an awesome job, meeting a cute boy or just something that would keep her intrigued to wake up everyday.

"Okay you little shit..."Norie mumbled as she slowly walked across the small waterfall where she saw the fish.

"I just need one...that's all..."she whispered while holding a net and a basket.

Then she saw a fish try to swim up the water fall making her smile and quickly snatch it with the net and pulled it out the water.

"Thank you for volunteering!" Norie said and stuffed it into the basket.

She picked it up and began walking back to her home, Norie whistled as she snapped her fingers while looking at the sky above her. Finally her home came into view and saw the smoke coming out from the window where they kept the stove.

"I'm home, and I caught a big one this time!" Norie said and placed the basket on the table.

Her mother, Hina, turned to her and smiled

"Thank you so much darling" the 43 year old said and hugged her while looking into the basket

"No problem, all I know is that we're going to have a good dinner tonight. Found this book a camper left, thought we can read it together" Norie explained as she grabbed a book from inside the basket but cringed since it was wet from the fish

It was quiet making Norie look at Hina and said "mom?"

She turned to her and gave her a sad look making Norie realize and sighed, she placed the book down and says "you have to going to Kyoto again?"

"But I promise I'll be back soon, I mean, where do you think we get all these blankets from, the clothes" Hina explained.

"I never complained" Norie said as she carved random patterns in the wooden table

Her mom sighed and rubbed her face, she grabbed the basket with the salmon and says "I'll prepare this for you then I'll head out-"
