CHAPTER 11- Dismantled

SETTING: TURTLES LAIR, 12:37AM
POV: Y/N L/N, 1st person

I followed Leo into the living room; it was empty considering it was so late at night. I watch as Leo sits down near the front of the TV, which I assume must be a habit. I mean, there are couches for a reason...

Nevertheless, I sit beside him as he works the TV. He inserts a DVD and glances over at me as the movie menu pops up. Leo scrambles to find the remote and then tests it to make sure it works. "Now, for the final part." Leo smiled, standing up. "Popcorn."

I watch as Leo heads back towards the kitchen. I follow him. "This late at night?" I question, smiling.

Clink, clink, clink!

"You cannot watch a movie without some buttered popcorn." He replies, digging into a cabinet as he pulls out a pack of popcorn. "Food may be limited here in the sewers, but I always try to save some food for special occasions." He replies, putting the pack into the microwave.

He sets the popcorn to cook for 2 ½ minutes and hits enter. I watch as the microwave rolls the popcorn pack in circles. I glance over at Leo who seems to be jumping where he stands. I couldn't help but smile. "You seem excited!" I exclaim.

Leo must've not noticed he was jumping around. He looks over at me and smiles, "Sorry-" He apologizes, "I haven't found someone who has shared my love for Space Heroes in like... well... ever."

"I'm glad I can be that someone, Leo." I nod, "Seeing how excited it makes you makes me excited."

He laughs, "Well, you must be more excited to taste the popcorn than to watch a show with me. I would die if I couldn't taste pizza ever again."

I had to think about it, "Actually, I think I prefer watching the show with you." I reply, "Although I am grateful to taste again, I think I would be a lot happier with you."

Leo blinks over at me, surprised. I could see his cheeks gain more color, "...You're really embarrassing me over here, Y/N." He mumbles, rubbing his neck.

I felt my heart skip a beat, "I-I..." I stutter, "...I think that this is... very special." I mutter.

"What do you mean?" Leo questions.

"I haven't really interacted with anyone since my dad vanished." I frown, "Ever since my teacher paired me with April and Casey for a group project, it seems that my whole world has changed. I'm finally closer to finding my father, and I'm finally making friends."

I look over at Leo, who's staring into my eyes. "And..." I start, "I've never had a team before. I never had someone to eat pizza with, to train with, and I never had someone to gossip to about a TV show I love. So, this is very special to me." I connect, "And it's thanks to you, Leo. You and your family."

"Y/N..." Leo says, solemnly. "I'm... honored, really." He chuckles. "I'm happy that you've found your place in this team, and that you feel special here."

"I do." I reply, "I really do!"

The microwave beeps, signaling that the popcorn was done. Leo opens the microwave and takes out the popcorn, opening it as he slides the popcorn into the bowl.

"Okay Y/N, It's time to watch Captain Ryan save the day!" He exclaims, walking past me.

"You know how I feel about Captain Ryan, right?" I ask, following behind him.

Clink, clink, clink!

"About how he is an interesting, but egotistical leader, and how I'm better than him?" He asked, stepping down into the living room. "Yeah, I remember you saying that."
