"So... what am I doing here?" Marcy asked the large newt as she weakly sat up in the large throne. "And... who are you? Wait... who am I?!" She quickly began to panic as she realized she had no recollection of anything at all— She couldn't even remember her own name.
The gigantic lizard offered her a comforting smile, reaching his hand out to her. "Relax, child. Come to me, and I'll explain everything."
Hesitantly, Marcy wiped her tear-filled eyes and stepped onto the newt's hand, sitting down on his palm. Then, as promised, he began to explain.
"My name is King Aldrich. I'm the ruler of this kingdom, and you are my granddaughter, the heir to the throne. Your title is Princess Marceline Leviathan—but you are more commonly known as 'Marcy'." He chuckled lightly. As he fed all this information to Marcy, he brought her outside the castle, and her eyes sparkled at all the marvelous sights. The place looked beautiful.
"I've been ruling this kingdom peacefully for decades— For awhile, all living beings here lived in sweet harmony, content and conflict-free. Isn't it nice?"
Marcy sat up in Aldrich's palm, her pupils increasing with admiration as she took in the magnificent scenery before her. A light breeze blew through her hair. In the distance, she could see what appeared to be dragons happily soaring through the fiery sky. The forest stretched on for miles. The air was fresh and clean. Everything here was perfect.
"Woah..." Marcy whispered to herself, a large smile forming on her lips. "This place is... incredible! It looks like it came right out of a movie, o-or something!" She giggled in disbelief, "This is really my home?"
"Yes, it truly is! Unbelievable, isn't it?" Aldrich smiled gently at Marcy, lowering his palm to the ground for her to step off. Marcy parted her jaw in awe as her feet connected with the ground, the grass beneath her feet feeling like a soft cushion. "This place... is like a paradise. I can't believe my eyes."
Aldrich smiled, then let out a sigh that was hinted with disappointment. "It is a paradise, but unfortunately a new threat has risen in our kingdom that we must be on the lookout for. If they find us, our entire manner of living will be destroyed."
Marcy looked up at Aldrich with fear in her eyes. "What?.... A threat? What is it, Grandfather?"
"You see, our kingdom used to be bigger. That was, until the war left us divided into the North — us — and the South. Up here, we've managed to keep the peace, but the South is... not as forgiving." Aldrich sighed, his voice laced with disappointment. "They want our land, and they will stop at nothing to seize it. They already came for you... that's why you cannot remember anything. We must make peace with them before they come to destroy us, and themselves in the process."
Looking down at the teenager, Aldrich's eyebrows furrowed. "I must stay here and protect our kingdom, but you must travel to the South and reunite our two kingdoms. Do you accept this challenge, Princess Marcy?"
Marcy's eyes were practically gleaming, and a big smile parted her lips. A quest?! A mission to create peace between two divided nations?! Of course she was up for the job!
"You got it, King Aldrich! I'll do the best I can!" She grinned, determination aglow in her gaze. However, her confidence was quick to falter as she looked around and remembered she still could hardly remember this place. "Uhh... do you have a map I could use? I don't really know where I'm going..." She chuckled awkwardly.
"Oh! Of course, young one. Here you go." Aldrich reached down and placed a map in Marcy's hands, smiling warmly at her. "Now go; When you return, I expect for the division between our two kingdoms to be terminated."
With a firm nod, Marcy eagerly set off on her quest. Aldrich stood and watched her go, his smile promptly dropping once Marcy was out of sight. "That should keep her distracted long enough..." The old newt mumbled to himself. "Now, back to business."

"Alright, Maddie," Anne began. She, Hop Pop, Polly, Sprig, and Maddie were all sitting in Maddie's room. "Got any spells that could help us out?"
"There's gotta be something in here that can help..." Maddie sighed as she flipped through her spell book. "Are you sure The Core is really inside of her? There's no outside connection we can sever?"
"No, it's really inside of her." Anne frowned, hugging her knees close to her chest. "It's eyes... they were on her forehead. Like some kind of parasite latched onto her, or something."
Sprig, who was sitting beside Anne, gently wrapped his arms around the brunette. Despite the dire situation, he couldn't help but be overjoyed that she was back. He thought his time was Anne was over for good when she went back to Earth. "Man... this really sucks. I thought all this stupid stuff with The Core was done with." The pink frog mumbled.
"Me too, Sprig..." Anne sighed. "Me too."

After awhile of searching, Maddie's eyes suddenly lit up. "Aha! I found something!"
Immediately, everyone circled around Maddie to get a look at the spell.
"It's a spell that can transport you into Marcy's mind. It says it only lasts about an hour, so you'll have to be quick about it... and the ingredients needed are from all over the valley. We'd better start collecting now if we hope to have this thing ready any time soon."
"It's... perfect!" Anne let out a breath of relief. She was beginning to think this might be hopeless, but having this spell might give them a fighting chance.

The group decided that they would split up to collect the ingredients for the spell. Anne and Sprig would go north, Hop Pop and Polly would go south, and Maddie would take care of everything else. She was the master, after all!

...

"You ready for one last adventure, Sprig?" Anne asked her frog friend as they prepared to set off on their journey, gazing down at him with eyes that were so full of pain, yet so determined at the same time.
Sprig nodded, returning the determined gaze. "Spranne against the world." He smiled, which Anne reciprocated.
"Let's do this, then." The brunette nodded, taking one last look at Wartwood before she and Sprig took off. She was relieved that they had found a spell to help them get Marcy back so quickly; she just hoped Sasha and Anise would be as fortunate with their duties.
