The next day, again

Marcy felt sicker and sicker the longer she waited for Anne and Sasha to arrive. Just as expected, her father was at work and her mother was at the market, so they both wouldn't be here to see Sasha and Anne's arrival. Pretty weird for them to not be here during a time like this, but also very convenient for the plan, as that should give Marcy just enough time to charge the stone.

Marcy couldn't believe this was happening. It felt so real now. She couldn't believe she was actually going to do this. Go behind her friends' backs again, only this time, she was fully aware that it would hurt them. If there was something she could do to stop this, she most certainly would, but it was already far too late for that. Especially after her little "outburst" last night with her father, The Core didn't trust her to execute the mission on her own anymore, so at any second it could take control and take care of things itself. Thankfully, Marcy knew how to leave the mindscape voluntarily; but she had an aching feeling that The Core would find a way to keep her there against her will while it carried out the mission. It always had more plans and tricks up it's sleeve, and Marcy felt pretty hopeless at this point.
Even so, she still planned to do everything in her power to make sure that, at the very least, her friends' lives were spared.

Currently, Marcy was standing in the bathroom and staring at her reflection in the mirror, just as she had done all that time ago when she first realized that The Core was still apart of her. She felt a sharp pain through her brain as the eyes opened up on her forehead, but she was pretty unfazed as she gazed at the three orange eyes which were intently staring back at her through her reflection.

"Are you ready, Marcy Wu?" The Core asked her.

"I..."

"Are you ready, Marcy Wu?" It asked again, in a sharper, more demanding tone.

"As ready as I'll ever be, my lord."

...

At about one in the afternoon, she heard a knock on the door. Doing her best to mentally prepare herself for what was to come, Marcy took a deep breath before approaching the door and slowly twisting the knob.
As soon as the door was open enough for them to fit through, Anne and Sasha bursted inside and practically tackled Marcy in a big hug. "MARCY!!" They both shouted in unison, tears of joy filling their eyes. Out of instinct, Marcy briefly clutched her pocket to ensure that the Ultra Stone was secure in there before hugging her two friends back. She couldn't help but smile as she melted into her friends' embrace, feeling safe and at peace in their arms. This was the last sense of peace and security she was going to have for awhile, so she took in as much as possible while she still could.

"Anna-banana... Sashy! Y-You're here!" Marcy exclaimed in a voice full of joy as she hugged her two friends. "How are you guys? How was the flight?"
"It was good!" Anne answered with a nod as the three separated from the hug, followed by Sasha, "Its a whole lot different here than California. It's so much colder here!"
"Heh, yeah..." Marcy agreed with a small giggle. "Um- where are your parents, Anne?" She then asked her curly-haired friend.
"Oh, they're staying at a nearby hotel. They spoke to your parents and they said it was okay that we stayed here— that's okay, right?"
"Y-Yeah, of course that's okay!" Marcy quickly nodded. So no adults would be around as the plan commences, perfect. "My dad is at work and my mom is at the market right now, but she should be home soon. I hope you guys don't mind that we're home alone right now."
"Of course we don't mind!" Sasha assured, glancing over at Anne who nodded in agreement. Then, Sasha's eyes scanned over the house. "Wow! You were right, this house is a lot bigger than your old one— It's nice!"
"Thanks, Sash!" Marcy smiled. "Why don't I show you guys around?"
