"Nora, Nora wake up". I grumbled and tried hitting the person away. "Stop that". They say. I feel water splashed onto my face. I get up and hiss only to stop once I notice who it is. "Oh Reya, what are you doing ?". I ask. "I came to join you for breakfast". She says excitedly. "Breakfast?, what time is it?". I ask frantically scrambling out of bed and making it. "It's 9". (Idk how time works in pandora so don't @ me). I pack all my stuff away and tidy the place up. "Why are you in such a rush?". She asked concerned. "Oh nothing, I just don't normally sleep for so long, I'm normally up before the sun has risen". I speak in a hurry. "There is nothing wrong with sleeping a little longer than usual". She comforts. She sits me down and starts making something for breakfast. "Besides I would sleep for that long too if I was out all night with a boy". I choke on my water at what she said. "Oh-uh, you saw that". I choke out. "Yup, so what happened?". She questioned me excitedly. I told her all about what happened yesterday and how he wanted me to ride with him today when we go see the spirit tree. "So now that you had your first kiss, you must of thought about it now". She says. "How many times do I have to say, I am not thinking about what my boyfriend is packing". I jokingly glare at her. "I wasn't talking about that, I was talking about mating with him". She says, I look away embarrassed and flustered as she just laughs at me. I throw a shell at her. "Ow". She says, throwing it back but I easily catch it with one hand. "You need to work on your throw". I say, making fun of her weak throw. "Shut up". She scolds. After breakfast we went to feed the Ilu. "Hey tuk". I excitedly call out to her. "Nora". She replies happily, joining us in the water. I grab ahold of her and place her on my hip. "Why haven't you come to see us in so long?". She wondered sadly. "Well your dad doesn't want me to be around you guys for a bit, it's unsafe". I try to convince. "I don't care". She simply says making me laugh as she pouted. "I know Tuk, but while your dad is not around we can hangout". I tell her. She squeals with excitement, hopping down from my hip. "Come on, I wanna show you something". She says, dragging me along and Tsireya just sits watching and laughing. "Tuk where are we going?". I ask her. We stop at the Center of a island reef, where we could stand up, the water reached just at my hips and at Tuks chest. Tuk did a call for the Ilu and many swam over happily. "Look, I can do it too now". She cheers. "That's amazing Tuk, makes me feel proud". I speak to her. She looks up at me with that cute smile. Suddenly the Ilu swam away in a hurry. I became alerted. "Did I do something wrong?". Tuk asked in worry. "No, no Tuk, I don't think that's it". I say, pulling her close to me. Me and tuk were stood on a reef island. I looked around, eyeing the waters cautiously. "Nora look out!". I heard someone call. An akula jumps from the ocean and aims for me and tuk. I quickly grab tuk and move to the side away from its snapping jaws, it wasn't big as the other akula but it was still dangerous. As it struggled to move off the island I quickly turned to tuk. "I need you too be brave". I tell her. "I-I can't I'm scared". She cries. "Look at me Tuk, I'm gonna get ya outta here okay, I promise". I tell her. "Pinky promise". She says holding her pinky up. I latch my onto hers. "I pinky promise". I say. "Now on my signal, I need you to swim to that dock". I explain to her. Her eyes were filled with tears, but still she nodded her head. "That's my girl, okay". "Nora?!". It was Neteyam, people started to gather at the docks when they heard people spreading the news of an akula getting through past the border. He stared worriedly, seeing his future mate and baby sister in the Center of all chaos. "Dad what do we do?". He asked in a panic. "Stay here I'm gonna get Tuk". He tells me. "What about Nora?". I ask him. "She's a strong girl, I know she already has a plan". Jake told his son, trying to reassure Neteyam.
"Ready?". I ask her one last time. "I'm ready". She says with as much courage she could muster. I pull my knife out from my belt and walked to the edge of the island. I cut my hand open and place it into the water, catching the Akula's attention. "On my signal". I call to her. The Akula swam closer and closer. Three...two...one. "Now tuk". I yell. Tuk jumps into the water and swims away hurriedly. The Akula jumps at me. I quickly swerve my body out of the way. It landed on the island, yet again struggling. I took the chance to fling myself ontop of it. I stab my knife into its eye making it wail in pain. I hiss at it in anger. It bucks and does whatever it can to get into the water. I took my knife out making it jerk forward. We now landed in the depths. The akula tries to swing me off it's back. I use as much power to stab its other eye. It resurfaces again. It jumped out of the water again, turning its body upside down, I let go before it hit the reef landing smoothly onto the island. It struggled on its back to get back to the water. "Nora, catch!". Jake called out. He threw a spear my way. I catch it midair and with a war cry I thrash the spear into the akulas heart. Once it's movements ceased, I hiss at it in victory and say a prayer as well. "I'm sorry brother". I apologise to it. Everyone had come up to the island and get a better look. "Nora, my child are you okay?". Ronal asked me, worriedly searching for wounds. "I'm fine, Ronal". I tell her. "Don't you ever do something like that again, you should've waited for the hunters to come help". She seethed at my stupidity. "I'm sorry". I apologise for making her so worried. Tonowari looked angry as well but it soon turned to a proud look once he fully realised what I had done. "Nora quaritch". He called out loudly. "Yes sir?". I ask. "Kneel, child". He says. I kneel, the water hitting my chest. "You are officially a warrior of the metkayina clan, defeater of Akula's". He announced, right here and now. People let out happy cheers. Some hissing with adrenaline and excitement. "We will celebrate it with our brothers and sisters around the fire". He says picking me up gently, to stand on my two feet. "Thank you Tonowari". I say. "No thank you".
Tonowari handled the body of the Akula, along with some others, i was taken back to shore. "Nora". Neteyam was the first to engulf me in a hug, following Tsireya and you know everyone else. "Nora, thank you". Tuk says hugging me tightly. "You we're very brave Tuk, you have a strong heart". I say. Neytiri glances at the girl for a moment. "Thank you". Neytiri comes up to me and gives me hug. I was shocked at first considering we didn't interact much but I hug her back. "Thank you, thank you, thank you". Jake says, pulling me into a hug. "Too tight". I rasp out. "Oh shit, sorry". He apologises placing me back. "Thank you, for saving my daughter". His eyes held a lot of worry and gratitude at the same time. "I would do anything for this family". I tell him. "Forget about what I said awhile ago, you're welcome around here and my family whenever you wish". He said. I smiled at him and shared a look with Neteyam. He held the same bright smile as me. "Your hand, come I'll get it patched up". Neteyam says. He grabs my wrist and drags me along to a medical hut. He sat me down on the mat as he walked around for supplies. Once he sat down in front of me he started up a conversation. "You really had me worried". He said sadly. "I'm sorry, I don't even know how it got passed the reef". I explained. "It was quite small". He tried to think of a reason. "But at the same time it's still to big". I say. "Well...I don't really care how it got pass, I just care that you're alright, you should've waited for help". He says. "Jake helped". "Proper help". He says. "I am alive arent I?". I questioned him. He fell silent after that. "Ma Neteyam". I speak up, catching his attention. "I am alright and your sister is alright, this is the only injury I have". I held my poorly wrapped hand. I laugh at it and he looks away slightly embarrassed. "Do you know what you're doing?". I ask him. "Uh-no not really". He admits. I place a hand on his cheek, wearing a smile. "It's alright, I will do it".

Later that day when everything calmed down, Tsireya said that it should be safe to go now. And as he said before. I rode on the back of neteyams ilu. I wrapped my arms around him tightly and he placed a hand under my thigh to support me. We swam for awhile before we came up. It was beautiful, there was floating islands and big structures of stone everywhere. It was my first time seeing this and it was absolutely breathtaking. "Best time to come here is at eclipse". Tsireya said, looking at all our amazes faces. Once it was dark, you could see something glow brightly underneath the water. "This is it, this is the spirit tree". She says. We all looked at it astonished at its beauty. We swam deeper down. Tsireya sign to us that we could connect our queues. I felt my eyes dilate from the peaceful sensation. "Mama". A little boy had rushed up to me. I kneeled down to give him a hug. Mama?. Is this my son. "Daddy's waiting over there". He says dragging me along. "Daddy, mommy's here". He calls to the figure. It was Neteyam, damn I picked the right man that's for sure. He was more built and I don't know if it's possible, but damn he looks even more handsome. "Ma Nora". He says to me. I glance at into the small creek. I was much older, my hair grew and there were braids. But what I found most interesting was a bullet wound on the left of chest. Before I could ask about it, I was thrown back into reality. The tree was rapidly pulsing. I look around and everyone was gathering around Kiri. Tsireya quickly detached her and Neteyam grabbed ahold of her and swam to the surface with everyone following. "What happened?". I asked, anyone really. "It's a seizure". Neteyam answers. "Is she breathing?". Rotxo asked repeatedly. Neteyam tries giving her mouth to mouth to wake her but there was no signs of movement. "Neteyam, get her back to the village". I tell him. "What about you?". He asked worriedly. "I'm not the one having seizure Neteyam, go now take her". I hurry him, along. "Quickly". Aonung holds his hand out. I jump on the back and we all follow Neteyam home quickly. "Tuk" I called out worriedly. "I've got her". Reya says. Once we got back, Jake took her into their marui. "We have to get norm". Jake states, quickly getting a radio. Neytiri stared worriedly.

The sun started to come back, and Norm had tried connecting machines and what not to Kiri. Analysing her brain. Neteyam paced worriedly outside of the marui. "Neteyam". I say softly. He paused his movements and I could see the concern in his eyes. "She's going to be alright". I assure him. "I am still worried". He says. "I know, it's understandable but you shouldn't be stressing so much".
"I can't help it, I'm their big brother, I just worry a lot". He admits. I look at him sadly. I didn't realise being the older sibling was so hard. I knew he was golden boy of the family but I didn't think it was that stressful on him. "Ma Neteyam, you are a free person as well, you should be able to live a little and not worry so much about trying to be...perfect". I say. He just listens closely to my words. "Nobody is ever perfect Neteyam, everybody has flaws and makes mistakes, but that's okay, it's part of growing up and learning". I lecture. He suddenly drags me away from everyone. I was confused at first but then I realised where were going. "Sorry, I didn't meant to drag you away like that, I just couldn't do this with my parents so close". He says, he slams his lips into mine bringing me close to him by my waste. I was shocked at first but quickly melted into the kiss. I felt my body be pushed back against a tree. He pulled away and pecked my cheek and then the other and a quick one on my forehead. He rest his forehead on mine and we stayed there together peacefully. "Thank you". He spoke. "For what?". I ask. "For being there, literally at all the right moments". He says. "You saved me in that storm". He started off. "Technically I was forced be there that time". "Anyways you still saved me did you not". He says giving me a "can you just let me finish look". "You saved my sister, and now you're being here for me at a time I need someone, I appreciate it". He says. Those words actually melted my heart. No one's ever said something like that. The amount of times I've saved someone ass back at RDA is insane but you never get appreciated, that was just your job, it's what you have to do that's all it was seen as. "Why are you crying". He asked me concerned. I didn't realise the tears that started to fall from my eyes. "Oh I'm sorry". I quickly apologise, trying to wipe the unknown tears away. "Don't be sorry ma Nora, it's okay to cry". He says, bringing me into his chest so I could cry silently. "No one's ever said anything like that before". I laugh lightly, trying to cut the sadness away. "I will tell you everyday if that's what it takes for you to realise how much you are appreciated". He says. This man is gonna be the death of me. "I love you". I whispered. "I love you Ma Nora". He answered.
