"What's happening?". Tuk sobbed out, her tears starting to slowly stop as she stared in wonder. "I do not know". Her mother answered. One by one they all started to cover her slowly.
I awoke in a panic, but soon my breathing turn back to normal. When I looked around I was on the shore of the village, all alone. "Nora!". I heard the familiar clicking of my sister. "Riko?". I breathed in disbelief at what I saw and heard. "Riko!". I yelled happily standing up and diving into the water when I saw her. "Sister I'm so happy to see you, I'm so sorry what happened, I wish I could've stopped it". I ranted to her. "It's not your fault Nora, at least I'm here with my mom". She happily said. Another familiar tulkun came by. "Roa, it's good to see you again". I signed to her. "Hey nora, how is my soul sistter and her baby". She asked. "Ronal is good and her baby are doing great. But after me well I would guess this heaven. I don't know how she would be feeling right now". I tell her. "Don't worry, you are not here for long". Roa says. "She's not". Riko asked sadly. "No she is not, my daughter, she will have to go back soon". Roa says. "I do?". I ask. "Yes, well that if you choose to of course, but I would advise you to take the chance, you have a much bigger future ahead of you if you do". She lectured. "You sound like Ronal". I say. We both chuckle at that. "She is my soul sister after all". Roa says. "If you would like, you can play with Riko for a bit and if you make up your mind, then I will send you back". Roa says. "Thank you Roa". I say. "You are welcome child, now go on, when your ready to leave just let me know if you wish to stay then I'll show you where everyone rest". She says. I nod my head and me and Riko swim off excitedly. I already knew my answer though, as much as I love being here with Riko. I have bigger plans. And I have someone waiting for me, people waiting, a family. My son is waiting to have a life.
"Her heart is beating softly". Ronal says. Everyone perked there head up at that. Neteyam was the first to see if this was true. When he felt the soft beat he felt a sense of relief. The woodsprite floated about, as if watching over her. "We should let her rest, Ronal can you patch her up?". Jake said. Ronal agreed and quickly got to work also feeling a sense of relief. "Thank you great mother". She prayed. Neteyam was there by her side the whole time. "Why didn't you tell us that you were seeing her?". Neytiri questioned. "We didn't think you would accept it". Neteyam answered honestly. Neytiri was a bit shocked to hear that they were together but if this truly made her son happy then she would accept it. "If you are happy ma son then I am happy for you". Neytiri says making a weight lift off Neteyam's shoulders. "Did Nora say anything about this?". Neytiri questioned Ronal. "Me and her spoke about it, but it was before they were together". Ronal told her. "Wait so you knew before hand?". Neytiri asked, a little cut she knew before herself. Even Neteyam was shocked and a little flustered that she had talked about him to Ronal before they were together. "Of course I knew before hand, she is like a daughter to me, she tells me everything". Ronal says. Neytiri turned to her son and flicked his forehead. "Ouch". He responded, rubbing his head with his fingers lightly to ease the sting. "Why do you not tell me things?". She asked a little hurt.
It had been a week since Nora's heart started beating softly and each day and night Neteyam would spend it with her by her side. The only time he wasn't around when Ronal would kick him out so she could clean her and redo the bandage on her chest. The bullet wound slowly faded and turned into a scar. "How's she doing?". Neteyam asked Ronal once she was done. "She is doing great". Ronal said. "How is the new baby girl?". He asked Ronal this time. "She is healthy and well". Ronal responded. She started to like neteyam, he was a respectful boy towards her and was helpful as well when coming to look after Nora. "Have you thought of a name for her?". Neteyam asked. "Yes I have". Ronal told him.
"Will you come visit me at the spirit tree?". Riko asked. "Of course I will sister". I tell her, hugging her tightly. "Will meet again one day, will grow together next time and we share the stories of our families and adventures". I say to her. "I like the sound of that". She says. "Are you ready?". Roa asked. I nodded my head and together the three of us went to the spirit tree. There was a lot more space to get to it then back in the living world. It seemed more beautiful from here. "Tell Ronal, that I will see her again one day and that I miss her". Roa asked. "Of course". I reply. Riko nuzzles her head against me and I hug her in return. "I'm gonna miss you". She says. "I'm gonna miss you too". I tell her. "Here take this with you". Riko says. A necklace floated by smoothly into the palm of my hands. "It's a sea stone from the depths of the ocean, it's rare to get, it symbolises change". Roa added. "Change?". I ask. "Yes you will go back, but you will be reformed a little, you will be true Na'vi as you should have been". Roa says. I would of cried if we weren't underwater. Hearing those words made my heart melt. I never really thought I deserved to be true Na'vi, I made many mistakes that shouldn't have been forgiven. "I see you". I motioned to them. "I see you". They replied. And before I knew it I felt a siege go through me and everything went blank for a second.
I flutter my eyes open slowly. I looked around and saw I was in a medical hut. I looked down at my chest and saw the bullet wound that was now a scar. I was wearing Na'vi clothing but what caught my eye the most was the way my skin was much bluer and my hands now had only 4 fingers and not 5 but they also held the necklace that Riko and Roa gave me. I place it around my neck and cuddles with it lightly as I thought about them. I took a deep breath and stood up. At first my legs wobbled a bit but once I got my balance I slowly made my way to the opening. I squinted my eyes at the bright light of the sun. I walked along the bridge trying to make my way back to find everyone. I went to Ronal's tent first. Ronal was just coming out the door when she stood frozen in her spot when she saw me. She dropped the basket in her hand and ran into my arms instantly. She hugged me so tight as if I was gonna disappear. "Oh thank you great mother, thank you". She sobbed out, as tears fell from her eyes. "Roa misses you and she said you two will meet again one day, she will wait for you". I tell her. Ronal cried harder at this. Tonowari heard the soft thump of the basket and went to check it out. "Hey, hey big man". I greet him. He comes up to me and hugs me along with Ronal. "Child you are okay, thank eywa". He says, looking up to the sky. "Nora!". I knew that soft voice from anywhere. Reya wrapped her arms around my torso and I lift one arm around her. Then Aonung popped out of the tent at the name of his friend finally awake. And then we were all hugging in one group. "Oh my god don't do that to us again, you skxwang". Aonung scolded. "I am sorry for worrying you all". I apologised. "I am just glad you chose to come back to us". Ronal says. "There is someone I want you to meet". She says, and they lead me into there marui. My eyes widen at the sight of a small baby in a cot. I looked over at her and she held the purest smile on her face. I smile back at her and she giggles softly. "Ronal, she is beautiful, what's her name?". I asked her still looking fondly at the child. "Nora". I snap my head up at her. "I told you I wanted to mage her after a great warrior, and She is named after a great warrior, the defeaters of Akula, a fierce women who helped us fight against the sky people. Her name is Nora". Ronal confirmed. I cried happy tears as I looked at the baby. I stroke her head kindly and she wraps her little finger around my thumb. "It's nice to meet you Nora". I sobbed. I stayed with her for a hit until I remembered the people I also really wanted to see. "They are at home". Ronal says, reading my mind. I nod my head and rush out of the marui. Once I got to the door of their marui instantly tuk shot up and gave me a hug, squealing in delight. "Nora". Lo'ak, Kiri and even Jake and Neytiri came up to hug me tightly. "You gave us a heart attack you skxwang". Kiri scolded holding me closer. "I'm sorry for leaving you guys for a bit". I say. "I'm so glad you're okay". Lo'ak commented. But the person I was dying to see, wasn't here. "He said he was going to your guys spot". Lo'ak says. Seems like everyone's reading my mind today. "I'm so happy to see yous all". I say. "We're happy you are back Nora but someone has been waiting for you and...you are accepted into this family as one of us". Neytiri says. I did the I see you gesture to her and the family and they all replied back and then Lo'ak had noticed something about my hand. "Hey you only got 4?". He noticed. "Yes well eywa said that I would change and that I am on of the people". I tell them. They all looked in shock. "You met eywa". Neytiri asked. "Well didn't meet her but I got message from her". I tell her. "You're gifted by eywa herself, so you have become one of us". Jake said. I gave them all one last big hug before going to see Neteyam. "When you find him, tell him to get back home". Jake said. I chuckle at the comment. "Sir, yes sir". I sarcastically say. He shakes his head with a smile and heads back into the marui. Once they were out of sight, I ran like my life depended on it. I didn't stop until I got to the spot. And there he was, sitting by the pond. Ma Neteyam.
