Defne and Selim, who were caught in the act, decided to explain the situation to their relatives. There was no point in hiding any longer that there was something between them.
The four of them decided to find a quieter corner, so they left the restaurant together, in order to talk in a quieter place. They headed towards the beach.
The Korkmazes walked ahead, with the girls right behind them. Özge held Defne under her arm. The blonde struggled to refrain from immediately commenting on what she had seen with her own eyes. She found it hard to accept that what she had feared most had happened after all.
After a while, they arrived at their destination. They agreed that they would talk among themselves first and then reunite and go over the matter again. Accordingly, Onur and Selim went for a walk to the right of the entrance. The girls, on the other hand, remained to the left. They had planned to take a walk, as did the bosses, but quickly gave up on this idea, sitting down on deckchairs, spread out on the sand, close to the water. All because they both had heeled shoes and found it difficult to move around.
- Why exactly Mr Selim? - Özge asked. You could sense in her voice that she was nervous. - There are so many nice guys around. Çinar, for example. You get along well, he's nice, friendly. And most importantly at your age.
- I like Çinar a lot, but I'm closer to Selim. We just have a lot of common themes. Despite the age difference, we have a lot of things in common.
- For example? - Asked Özge, putting her leg over her leg. - There are so many differences between us. They are, first of all, very rich people, and you are not fond of such people. Shall I remind you what you think of wealthy guys?
- For example... We have similar dreams,' Defne replied, taking deep breaths into her lungs. - You know, Selim loves music as much as I do.
- You can't build a relationship with shared dreams,' sighed Özge. - I used to think it was possible, and I was wrong. Dear, don't think ill of me. - Her cousin grabbed her hand. - I wish you the best, but you are unlikely to be happy with someone like Selim. He is not a man who could be worthy of you. Do you know that such men fall in love with someone all the time?
- I know, after all I said so myself for a very long time," Defne said, squeezing the blonde's hand. She tried to look into her eyes. - 'I changed my mind when I started getting to know Selim. He is not like the statistical rich man. I tell you this because I have spent many hours talking to him. Moreover, I should confess something else.
- Apart from your relationship with Selim, what are you hiding from me? - Özge became interested.
- Do you remember the evening when I ended up in hospital, losing consciousness because of the sight of blood? - Asked Defne, looking at her cousin. The latter wrinkled her forehead, trying to remember that day. - 'I told you and Janset at the time that I met a man on the beach with whom I had a good conversation.
- 'Yes, I remember,' Özge admitted, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. - 'You got upset with me because I pair you up with every guy you mention.
- Well, that's just it,' laughed Defne. - I didn't continue this thread, but now I can finally say it. At the time I was thinking of Selim. He was the one I used to meet with in the evenings on the beach.
- Ne? (What?) - asked Özge, wrinkling her eyebrows. - 'Are you serious?
- 'Yes,' continued Defne, making no secret of the fact that she was amused by the memory. - 'I didn't know at the time that you two were working together. I wouldn't have been able to associate facts because we didn't talk about work. We only met at my interview, after the previous employment had turned out to be a dud. However, that's still not all!
