A/N
So I decided I'd write a bunch of Oneshots in between the actual story arches. These will be a bunch of short stories exploring the characters and setting up the next storyline... Also I hope everyone likes mysteries.
Killer, Horror, and Dust all came skidding to a stop, bumping right into one another. They had been hurrying down the hall, but stopped as soon as they rounded the corner. "Oh- Fu- Back up!" Killer whisper yelled over his shoulder. Immediately all of them recoiled, hurrying behind the corner where a pillar easily obscured them from any unaware passerbys.
"Did you see Nightmare?" Horror asked, the trio now standing in a tight circle with one another.
"He's talking to someone just in that hall there," Killer confirmed. Dust let out an exasperated sigh, only for Horror to shush him. "I swear, he's everywhere at once. How are we supposed to ditch work if we keep bumping into him like this?" Killer complained, the other two muttering their agreement.
Everyone ditched work at some point or another. Especially today. Killer shuddered. Cleaning day. Even though they were considered guards, they always got dragged into helping the maids and lessee servants clean the castle from top to bottom. And if there was one thing Sans of any AU truly hated, it was cleaning. So they'd try their damned hardest to avoid getting dragged into the boring and repetitive chores which came around at the start of every month.
"If you boys are looking to ditch work..." A familiar voice began from behind them. They startled for a split second, which meant they better get going soon to avoid Nightmare finding them lazing around like this. They all looked to Zoie as she watched them, freshly washed bed sheets in her arms. "I'd take my chances hiding up in the Crypt. It's been empty since Dream broke free from her statue. No one wants to go clean that creepy old tower," She said, which had the three exchanging mischievous looks. A perfect hiding place. "Oh, but be careful. They say it's haunted."
Horror scoffed and rolled his one pinprick. "Ghosts aren't real," He insisted. Killer noticed Dust dip his head slightly, letting the shadow of his hood hide his features. Killer narrowed his eyes. Does he believe in ghosts?
Zoie shrugged. "If you say so," She said before continuing on her way. She disappeared down the hall whilst humming cheerfully to herself.
"Looks like we're going to the Crypt, boys," Killer said with a wide smile. Horror smirked, looking quite eager to get a move on. Seeing as he was the only one who knew the way, he turned to march them straight towards the tower. He paused however upon only hearing one set of footsteps following alongside him. He slowed and looked back over his shoulder to find Dust hadn't moved. "Hey, are you coming?" He asked.
To his surprise Dust took a step back. "Maybe I should help with all the work that needs to get done..." He said, which had Killer and Horror exchanging a baffled look. He'd never expected Dust to ever walk away from an opportunity to just peacefully hang out like this.
"Did you hit your head or something?" Horror questioned, grabbing Dust by the skull. He dramatically looked him up and down like some worried mother. "You're talking like you got a bigger hole in your head than me!" He claimed.
Dust soon yanked himself free from his grip. "I don't like taking chances on things like... ghosts. That's all," He said, timidly looking elsewhere. Killer found his nervousness a little endearing. He placed a hand to his friend's shoulder and gently squeezed.
"Hey, Dusty, we'll be there. No ghost gonna- Uh- Boo you or whatever while we're around. We'd kill 'em again for trying to scare off one of our trio members," He told him. Dust met his gaze and so he gave him the same playful wink he always did. Dust eased a tad bit, looking between both the skeletons before he sighed and gave a small nod of his head. "Perfect!" Killer exclaimed, hurrying to walk on ahead. "Follow me straight to pleasant relaxation!"
